IP BILOXI HOSTS THIRD CIRCUIT OF THE SEASON
Thursday, September 7 marks start of 12-ring series at IP Biloxi
Biloxi, Miss. (September 5, 2017) -- The World Series of Poker Circuit has already completed two stops of the 2017-2018 tour, Harrah's Cherokee in North Carolina and Foxwoods in Conneticuit. The third stop on the Circuit schedule begins Thursday, September 7 at IP Casino Resort & Spa in Biloxi, Mississippi.
Kicking off the IP Circuit series is the ever-popular re-entry tournament, with a twist. Along with the option of unlimited re-entry, Event #1 grants players twice the usual starting stack, coming out to 20,000 in tournament chips. This opening event also features a $200,000 guaranteed prizepool and three starting flights.
There will be 12 gold ring events held in total, including the Monster Stack, sporting a $50,000 guarantee this year, and the $1,675 Main Event, which begins Friday, September 15th. The Main Event carries a guaranteed prizepool of $500,000. Its conclusion on Monday, September 18th will bring the Biloxi Circuit to an end.
Last years Main Event winner at IP Biloxi was Chris Savage. The online poker legend topped a field of 382 entrants to earn his first WSOP Circuit gold ring and $126,059.
The winner of the Main Event and the Casino Champion will earn a seat to the 2018 Global Casino Championship. There they will compete for a minimum $1 million prizepool, as well as a coveted gold bracelet. To become the Casino Champion a player must earn the most points at a given Circuit stop. Players earn points based on how well they finish in a tournament. More information on the Global Casino Championship leaderboard can be found on WSOP.com.
