Joshua Turner (pictured) won his fourth career WSOP gold ring Friday at the Horseshoe.

Council Bluffs, Iowa (April 8, 2016) -- Friday featured Flight A of the Main Event. It drew 143 entries and had 29 players survive. The flight's chip leader was recent gold ring winner, Maurice Hawkins, who manged to bag 245,000 chips. Flight B begins Saturday at noon and will allow registration until the start of Level 13. The only gold ring winner on Friday at the Horseshoe was Joshua Turner. Turner defeated a field of 124 players in Event #10 - $580 No-Limit Hold'em to earn $17,359 and his fourth career WSOP Circuit gold ring. Be sure to look for Turner in Saturday's Flight B of the Main Event.

12 p.m. - $1,675 Main Event (Flight B)

  • Registration remains open until the start of Level 13 (9:45 p.m.)
  • Players start with 20,000 tournament chips
  • Blinds begin at 25/50
  • Levels 1-15 are 40 minutes long and all remaining levels are 60 minutes long
  • One re-entry is allowed
  • There is a one hour dinner break after Level 9 (6:30 p.m.)
  • Day 1 will last 15 levels
  • Day 2 begins Sunday at noon
  • The winner will earn a free seat into the 2016 Global Casino Championship

Event #1 - $365 No-Limit Hold'em - Doug Hutcheson defeated a field of 179 players to earn $14,500.

Event #2 - $365 No-Limit Hold'em Bounty - Mark Fink defeated a field of 141 entries to earn $7,898.

Event #3 - $365 No-Limit Hold'em Re-Entry - Duane Gerleman defeated a field of 743 entries to earn $44,577.

Event #4 - $365 No-Limit Hold'em (One-Day) - Tommy Hoard defeated a field of 118 entries to earn $10,617.

Event #5 - $365 Limit Omaha 8 or Better - Scott Buller defeated a field of 117 entries to earn $10,531.

Event #6 - $365 No-Limit Hold'em - Jason Seitz defeated a field of 120 entries to earn $10,801.

Event #7 - $365 No-Limit Hold'em Six Max - Jacob Phillips defeated a field of 153 entries to earn $12,853.

Event #8 - $365 Pot-Limit Omaha 8 or Better - Adrian Jimenez defeated a field of 89 entries to earn $8,545.

Event #9 - $365 No-Limit Hold'em Monster Stack - Maurice Hawkins defeated a field of 265 entries to earn $19,477.

Event #10 - $580 No-Limit Hold'em - Joshua Turner defeated a field of 124 entries to earn $17,359


Casino Championship:

Doug Hutcheson still remains in the lead of the Casino Championship standings, but his lead got cut into today. Shaun Burnett finished runner up in Event #10 - $580 and has tied Hutcheson in the standings. Hutcheson holds the tiebreaker over Burnett because he has more in tournament earnings during the series.
