COMMERCE AND HARRAH'S CHEROKEE DECLARE NEW WSOP CIRCUIT CHAMPIONS

Las Vegas, Nevada (May 19, 2026) - Throughout the United States and the world, the rising excitement amongst the global poker community is palpable.
The 57th annual World Series of Poker at the Horseshoe and Paris in Las Vegas is only a week away, with players around the world getting ready to make the trip to Sin City to compete in 100 WSOP bracelet events, including the $10,000 WSOP Main Event.
While the biggest poker event of the year has yet to begin, poker players across the United States and beyond are already winning WSOP accolades and major six-figure scores along the WSOP Circuit.
Yesterday, the WSOP Circuit series at both The Commerce Casino in Commerce, California, and Harrah’s Cherokee in North Carolina came to a close, as both series ran simultaneously throughout the month of May.
The grand finale of every WSOP Circuit series, the $1,700 No-Limit Hold’em Main Event, concluded at both properties yesterday, with two new reigning champions declared.
Securing the triple crown by winning his third WSOP Circuit Main Event and tenth WSOP Circuit ring, Hamid Izadi added to an already stellar list of accolades, defeating runner-up Louis George to take down the Cherokee WSOP Circuit Main Event for the $332,405 top prize.
Izadi’s previous WSOP Circuit Main Event victories came at Harrah’s Pompano Beach in 2024 ($245,225 first place prize) and Caesars Southern Indiana in 2025 ($111,979 first place prize).

While Izadi was playing his way to his tenth WSOP Circuit ring, WSOP bracelet winner Anthony Marquez was playing his way to his first WSOP Circuit ring, winning the Commerce WSOP Circuit Main Event for a $187,977 score after defeating second-place finisher Erik Selami.
No stranger to success in WSOP events, prior to winning his first WSOP Circuit ring, Marquez won the most substantial prize in poker, finishing in first place in the $1,500 No-Limit Hold’em 6-Max event during the 2017 WSOP.
