The $1,700 Main Event here at the Horseshoe Hammond WSOP Circuit stop has come to a close with Soheb Porbandarwala absolutely steamrolling the final table to clinch his 12th career circuit ring in style!

When the final day began, Porbandarwala held almost double the stack of his nearest competitor. The late stages of the Day 2 session were insane already with the field losing four more players than anyone on staff thought possible with non-stop action and the final day was no different. Within an hour, Porbandarwala held roughly 60% of the chips in play after getting down to six-handed he did not stop there.

He did hit a couple speed bumps, namely in the form of a double that Porbandarwala sent to both Jonathan Seely and Adam Greenberg but with the chip lead he had built, they were almost unnoticeable to his stack.

On top of putting on an absolute clinic in final table play with a high opening frequency and putting his opponents in ICM nightmare spots, he also ran incredibly well. At one point, Porbandarwala sent Eric Adelstein to the rail after opening and deciding to call the three-bet jam of Adelstein.

Adelstein held the    and was flipping versus the    of Porbandarwala. The flop gave Porbandarwala a royal flush draw with the turn bringing in the nut flush, but that just wasn't enough of an exclamation on the tournament for the poker gods as the   nailed the river, completing the royal flush and making the way the day was going to go all the more clear to the remaining other players.

On the final hand, not long into heads up play, Brad Coultas jammed for roughly 20 blinds and saw a snap call from Porbandarwala. It was good news for Coultas at first as he held the dominating    to Porbandarwala's   , but when the flop came    , there was definitely a "was there ever a doubt" feeling in the air as Porbandarwala left Coultas drawing incredibly thin. The board completed without helping Coultas who was left with a 2nd place finish while Porbandarwala secured his largest ever live tournament score, completing a wire-to-wire final table run in the most stylish way possible, both with fantastic play, insane run good and his bright blue, dice-covered lucky shirt.

It was quite the homecoming here at Horseshoe Hammond for Porbandarwala, who spoke fondly of having loved coming to play this stop as a younger man and after having not been here in quite some time, to roll in and take down the penultimate event in such dominating fashion is an incredibly special moment, so much so that he was rendered almost speechless for a moment.

On one of his other Main Event circuit rings, Porbandarwala had his two daughters names engraved on it and after having a third daughter since then, it sounds likely that it will not be the family man's name etched on the ring, but his daughter's name so that he has a ring with all their names featured.

With this win, Porbandarwala cements his status as one of the most successful and decorated players in the storied history of the WSOP Circuit with a victory that was built on the back of one of the most dominant, lop-sided and fast-paced final table performances we've ever seen materialize.

For his win and in addition to his 12th WSOP Circuit ring (3rd in Main Events), Porbandarwala also takes home $257,725 is cash, the title of Main Event Champion and a seat to the 2024 WSOP Tournament of Champions and to say that he is one to watch when that event kicks off would be a massive understatement.

Final Table Payouts:

1st: Soheb Porbandarwala - $257,725
2nd: Brad Coultas - $159,277

Brad Coultas:
Soheb Porbandarwala:

Brad Coultas was first to act and jammed for around 4,000,000. Jonathan Seely peeled his cards and laughed, clearly having a decision on his hands.

After a moment, Seely decided it was time to run it if he was going to try and make a push for the title and put in the call. Porbandarwala folded and left the other two to watch as the five card runout was pread.

Jonathan Seely:
Brad Coultas:

Seely was flipping for his tournament life and when the flop came    , he had one foot out the door. The board completed with a   turn and   river, making Seely's 3rd place finish for $119,402 official as he stood to make his way to the payout desk.

Not a bad day for Seely, who previously had just $15,000 in career live earnings.

One hand after doubling up Jonathan Seely and being left with just 400,000, Adam Seely got all in from the big blind the very next hand and found callers in both Brad Coultas and Soheb Porbandarwala before heading to a     flop.

Porbandarwala led out for 150,000 and Coultas called to see the   peel off on the turn.

Porbandarwala bet out again, this time for 400,000. Coultas folded and the cards were on their backs headed to a river.

Adam Greenberg:
Soheb Porbandarwala:

It was bad news for greenberg as his flush draw was dead and he'd need a ten or a six to keep his run going, but when the   hit the river, Greenberg was forced to stand and make his exit in 4th place for $90,360.

Soheb Porbandarwala - 30,200,000

Richard Bai was under the gun and jammed his short stack, getting called by Soheb Porbandarwala who sets up a cards up runout with yet another player at risk.

Richard Bai:
Soheb Porbandarwala:

It was a pure flip and when the flop came    , Bai looked to be in good shape to catch a much needed double as the shortest stack at the table.

But when the turn brought the  , Bai was drawing dead headed to the   river as Porbandarwala sends Bai to the rail in 5th place for $69,039.

Jonathan Seely:
Soheb Porbandarwala:

Seely needed and ace or a heart and the turn didn't make him sweat as it came the  , rendering the   river useless as Seely secured a full double.

Action folded to Hussain Sajwani on the button who raised to 240,000. Soheb Porbandarwala was in the big blind and put in a three-bet to 850,000.

Sajwani wasn't done with the hand yet, though, as he came back at Porbandarwala with a four-bet to 1,860,000. Porbandarwala jammed almost immediately and Sajwani made the snap call, sending both players to a runout with the cards face up.

Hussain Sajwani:
Soheb Porbandarwala:

The     flop came safe for Sajwani, as did the   turn, but when the river peeled off the  , Porbandarwala put an end to Sajwani's day as his final table dominance continues.

With only 39,400,000 chips in play, Porbandarwala has become an absolute wrecking ball, laying waste to anyone who finds themselves in his way.

For his efforts, Sajwani will walk away with a 6th place finish and a payday worth $53,259.

Soheb Porbandarwala raised to 240,000 from the hijack only to face a three-bet jam to 1,750,000 from Eric Adelstein in the small blind. The big blind got out of the way and after a moment of deliberation, Porbandarwala decided on making the call, prompting the cards to be turned face up as both players headed to a runout.

Eric Adelstein:
Soheb Porbandarwala:

The flop came    , giving Porbandarwala the royal flush draw. The turn brought the  , locking the hand up for Porbandarwala but the river banged off the  , giving Porbandarwala the royal flush.

The table was stunned as one player commented that this just must be Porbandarwala's tournament as he is simply running away with it at this point.

As the table shook off the insanity of seeing the rarest hand in the game hit the river on such a huge final table, Adelstein was left to make his exit in 7th place for $41,489 and with that, Porbandarwala now hold 65% of the chips in play with just 6 players remaining.

Altman tanked for a couple minutes, contemplating the decision for his tournament life. After a bit, he would decide to make the call and show the    only to watch as Porbandarwala rolled over    for a rivered set.

Brian Altman slid his chips into the middle and with a gracious "Good game", he stood to make his exit in 8th place for $32,639 as Porbandarwala has vanquished the other most decorated and highest earning player in the final 8.

Porbandarwala was next to act and didn't have to think too long to decide on putting in a four-bet to 1,900,000.

Altman opted to get out of the way before Sajwani entered the tank for a moment. Eventually, Sajwani would also release his hand as well, sending a big uncontested pot Porbandarwala's way.

Seely seemed to have a decision on his hands but did decide on a fold before Bai made a quick call only to see Sajwani turn over    for trips. Bai's hand hit the muck face down as he sent a pot that got really big out of nowhere in Sajwani's direction.
