WSOP INTERNATIONAL CIRCUIT GOES TO ROTTERDAM

The biggest and oldest poker event in the world is coming to the Netherlands. From 2017, poker enthusiasts can also take part in the World Series of Poker (WSOP) in the Netherlands. Holland Casino has entered into an unique agreement with Caesars Interactive Entertainment whereby the prestigious event, as part of the WSOP International Circuit Series, will be organised annually in the Netherlands. The Dutch version of the WSOP Circuit will take place in the fully renovated Holland Casino Rotterdam in autumn 2017.

Holland Casino CEO Erwin van Lambaart: ‘We are proud of the collaboration between Holland Casino and the largest poker brand in the world. The WSOP is a wonderful addition to our already broad range of poker, and it has national and international allure.’

‘As a European, I know Holland Casino to be a party that is capable of organising large and prestigious poker events, such as the historic Master Classics of Poker’, says WSOP Director of Events Gregory Chochon. ‘We are very proud that the WSOP can work together with such an iconic casino chain and we are looking forward to seeing more Dutch players take part in the WSOP in Vegas.’

World’s biggest poker event

The WSOP Las Vegas, the biggest and oldest poker event in the world, has developed to include over fifty tournaments. The winner of the main event is seen as the world champion poker player. The last winner, Qui Nguyen, won a total of eight million dollars. The estimate is that six million people worldwide watched the finals (or the ‘November Nine’) live online.

WSOP in Rotterdam

The WSOP International Circuit Series takes place at 14 locations across the globe. And now Holland Casino Rotterdam is joining those ranks as host of the WSOP Circuit in the Netherlands. The winner of the Main Event and the leader board winner of the WSOP Rotterdam directly qualify for the Global Casino Championship, where all WSOP International Circuit winners play for a guaranteed prize pool of one million dollars.

Broad range of poker games at Holland Casino

All branches of Holland Casino offer a wide range of poker games. Besides the WSOP, Holland Casino has also been organising the Master Classics of Poker (MCOP) in Amsterdam for the past 25 years. In addition, there are various editions of the World Poker Tour (WPT) in Valkenburg and Amsterdam. Furthermore, the Netherlands’ poker championship, the Dutch Open Poker Series, is held at Holland Casino Breda every year. You can find more information about the range of poker games at Holland Casino here. Holland Casino is the only legal gaming facility offering poker games in the Netherlands.
