MICHAEL MIZRACHI WINS THE 2025 WORLD SERIES OF POKER MAIN EVENT TITLE AND ACHIEVES POKER IMMORTALITY

LAS VEGAS (July 16, 2025) – Displaying one of the most dominant performances in World Series of Poker (WSOP) Main Event history, Michael “The Grinder” Mizrachi leveraged his decisive chip lead obtained during Day One of the WSOP Main Event Final Table to go the distance and win the 2025 title. Winning the largest piece of the $90,535,500 total prize pool, Mizrachi takes home $10 million along with a Main Event bracelet valued at half a million dollars.

From the moment Mizrachi spiked an ace on the river to overcome second-place finisher Robert Wasnock’s ($6,000,000) pocket kings during Day One of the Final Table, Mizrachi carried the momentum all the way to the end to earn himself a banner inside the Horseshoe Las Vegas Event Center.

Starting the day with over three-quarters of the chips in play, Mizrachi made quick work of the competition, eliminating fourth-place finisher Kenny Hallaert ($3,000,000) and third-place finisher Braxton Dunaway ($4,000,000) during the first two hands of the day.

Going all-in preflop for less than 10 big blinds, Hallaert’s ace-queen offsuit was slightly ahead of Mizrachi’s king-jack suited prior to the flop, but after a jack arrived on the turn, Hallaert was eliminated.

The very next hand, Dunaway would move all-in with ten-six suited, only for Mizrachi to wake up with ace-ten suited, which would hold and set up a heads-up duel with Wasnock for all the marbles.

After a number of hands were played and small pots exchanged, a flopped ace-nine two pair held by Wasnock would meet its demise after Mizrachi turned a flush with a suited ten-three. When all of the chips went into the middle on fourth street, Wasnock was unable to boat up on the river, officially crowning Mizrachi as the 2025 WSOP Main Event champion.

As if it seemed Mizrachi could achieve all one possibly could during the WSOP, the newly crowned Main Event champion was surprised at the feature table by a group of Poker Hall of Fame members, including Phil Ivey, Brian Rast, Phil Hellmuth, and John Hennigan.

For the historic achievement of winning his fourth Poker Players Championship as well as the Main Event in the same summer, the now nine-time WSOP bracelet winner was informed by his peers that, via a unanimous vote, he would become the 65th member of the Poker Hall of Fame.

“Mizrachi has completed what might be the most impressive feat in poker history by winning the two most difficult tournaments to win in the same year,” said WSOP Chief Executive Officer Ty Stewart. “Welcome to the Gallery of Champions and welcome to the Poker Hall of Fame.”

If you've ever watched the World Series of Poker and thought that could be me, you're not alone. Since 1970, the WSOP has been the place where that dream lives. Most people know the summer series in Las Vegas, where the $10,000 Main Event turns ordinary players into legends. But the WSOP calendar has grown well beyond that. WSOP Europe and WSOP Paradise now bring bracelet competition to international destinations, and dozens of Circuit events run year-round for players who want serious competition closer to home. Whether you're grinding a Circuit stop or taking your shot at the Main Event, the hardware means something. Winning a gold bracelet or Circuit ring is more than just a trophy. It's a permanent record that you are a champion. For players in Nevada, New Jersey, Michigan, and Pennsylvania, WSOP Online has become something worth paying attention to. It's the only platform in the US where you can win a poker tournament for official WSOP gold bracelets without leaving home! The WSOP also offers deposit limits and self-exclusion tools because the best poker rooms have always known that keeping poker players healthy keeps the game healthy. From your first Circuit event to a final table in Las Vegas, WSOP is still where you go to prove something.
