DAY 7 OF THE WSOP MAIN EVENT CONTINUES ON ESPN
The Main Event continues with day 7 as a number of unknowns rise from obscurity in their bid to become this year’s world champion. Czech pro and master chess player Martin Staszko takes his place on center stage, threatening to make quite a name for himself. ther Europeans to keep an eye on are Eoghan O'Dea and Anton Makiievskyi, while soft-spoken Kenny Shih takes on JP Kelly in one of the most slyly played hands of the tournament so far.

Poker pro David “Doc” Sands and his girlfriend, Erika Moutinho find themselves seated at the same table. Will they survive Day 7 together or will they be faced with having to disrupt one another’s dreams of winning poker’s biggest prize?

In the second of tonight’s two premier episodes, Young, global talent continues to be one of the biggest stories of this Main Event – along with Staszko and Makiievskyi,  Russian Andrey Pateychuk, and Costa Rican John Hewitt are raking in the chips left and right, and find themselves with nice stacks towards the end of the day. Can they keep the story alive? But a couple of middle-aged talents aren't ready to pass the torch just yet: Belize amateur Badih “Bob” Bounahra and the prior bracelet-winner from Arkansas, Sam Barnhart, are well on their way towards making Day 8.

All the Tuesday night WSOP Main Event coverage will feature hole cards during hands, and follows the traditional Tuesday night format poker fans have come to expect from ESPN in terms of World Series of Poker action.

A starting field of 6,865 players entered the $10,000 buy-in event this year, creating an enormous $64,531,000 prize pool which will make the eight finalists all millionaires and the winner will walk away with $8,711,956.

Who will make the "November Nine" and return in November to a sold-out Penn & Teller theater?  The journey is almost over, and each and every week the WSOP on ESPN will bring viewers inside the event to follow the storylines that develop throughout gaming's richest annual event.

If you've ever watched the World Series of Poker and thought that could be me, you're not alone. Since 1970, the WSOP has been the place where that dream lives. Most people know the summer series in Las Vegas, where the $10,000 Main Event turns ordinary players into legends. But the WSOP calendar has grown well beyond that. WSOP Europe and WSOP Paradise now bring bracelet competition to international destinations, and dozens of Circuit events run year-round for players who want serious competition closer to home. Whether you're grinding a Circuit stop or taking your shot at the Main Event, the hardware means something. Winning a gold bracelet or Circuit ring is more than just a trophy. It's a permanent record that you are a champion. For players in Nevada, New Jersey, Michigan, and Pennsylvania, WSOP Online has become something worth paying attention to. It's the only platform in the US where you can win a poker tournament for official WSOP gold bracelets without leaving home! The WSOP also offers deposit limits and self-exclusion tools because the best poker rooms have always known that keeping poker players healthy keeps the game healthy. From your first Circuit event to a final table in Las Vegas, WSOP is still where you go to prove something.
