Dennis Weiss Wins Second Omaha Bracelet in $25,000 High Roller Pot-Limit Omaha ($2,292,155)

The final day of Event #51: $25,000 High Roller Pot-Limit Omaha brought back five hopefuls out of a field of 489 entries and they were all vying to earn the biggest slice of the $11,491,500 prize pool. Two of the contenders already had a WSOP gold bracelet to their name and Germany's Dennis Weiss doubled his tally after defeating Michael Duek in heads-up.

Weiss entered the grand finale as the run-away chip leader and only lost the top spot to Duek for a short period before dominating the heads-up duel with his aggressive playing style to claim the top prize of $2,292,155. The German had already won a Pot-Limit Omaha bracelet during the 2024 World Series of Poker Europe and now doubled his tally at the Horseshoe and Paris Las Vegas. For Duek, it was the third top three finish in his third WSOP final table but he had to settle for a still very handsome payday of $1,528,077.

Jeffrey Hakim parlayed his shortest stack at the start to a third-place finish for $1,062,669 after the eliminations of Talal Shakerchi and Evan Krentzman.

The Back and Forth Duel Continues

Michael Duek limped with his K♦Q♦6♠3♣ before calling a raise to 1,800,000 by Dennis Weiss with the A♠J♠7♣6♦. The K♠9♣3♦ flop gave Duek top and bottom pair, and he called a continuation bet for 2,200,000 by Weiss ahead of the 2♥turn. Weiss now checked and Duek bet 5,000,000 to take down the pot right there without any further resistance.

Spicy Flop Leads to No Major Action

Michael Duek potted to 1,800,000 on the button with the Q♠Q♦5♣3♠ and Dennis Weis called in the big blind with the 7♠6♦6♣4♣. The 10♥6♥4♦flop gave Weiss a set of sixes and he checked, Duek checked back his open-ended straight draw.

Both also opted to check the 9♥on the turn and another heart rolled off with the J♥ river. Weiss now bet 1,100,000 and Duek folded.

Michael Duek raised the pot to 1,800,000 with the A♠K♠5♦4♣ and Dennis Weiss defended the A♥8♣4♦2♥. They checked the Q♣4♠3♣ flop to the 3♠turn on which Weiss checked once again. Duek now bet 2,600,000 with his nut flush draw and Weiss folded.

Dennis Weiss raised to 2,100,000 on the button and Jeffrey Hakim three-bet to 6,600,000 in the big blind. Weiss four-bet shoved all in and Hakim quickly called off his stack of 11,700,000.

The flop came A♠6♣3♥ and Weiss picked up a set of aces to take a stranglehold on the hand. The 9♥ on the turn gave Hakim some home with a straight draw but the 3♠ on the river gave Weiss a full house, sending Hakim home in third place.

Dennis Weiss limped in on the button with K♠J♠7♠7♥ and Michael Duek raised to 2,400,000 from the small blind with 10♣9♥8♥7♣. Jeffrey Hakim called from the big blind with Q♠10♥10♦9♦ and Weiss came along as well for the first three-way pot of the day.

The flop fell K♥4♥4♣ and Duek led out with a bet of 1,500,000. Hakim folded after connecting but Weiss called with two pair. The turn was the A♣ and Duek slid out a bet of 3,000,000. Weiss gave up the best hand and Duek raked in the pot.

Michael Duek raised to 1,500,000 in the small blind and Jeffrey Hakim just called in the big blind. The flop came A♠Q♥6♣ and Duek continued with a bet of 3,500,000. Hakim shoved all in for 4,800,000 and Duek quickly called.

Michael Duek: A♦8♥8♣7♣

Hakim flopped two pair to take the lead and the Q♣ on the turn locked up his double with a full house. The 3♦ on the river was just a formality and Duek took a hit to his stack.

Jeffrey Hakim limped in from the small blind with K♥J♠9♣8♥ and Dennis Weiss made it 1,500,000 in the big blind with Q♥J♣5♥4♠. Hakim quickly called and the flop of A♥7♣3♥ was spread across the felt, giving both players a flush draw.

Hakim checked to Weiss who continued with a bet of 1,400,000 and Hakim just called. The turn was the 9♠ and Hakim checked again. Weiss sized up a large bet of 5,200,000 and Hakim went into the tank for a minute before laying down the best hand.

Michael Duek raised to 1,250,000 on the button with K♦Q♥9♥3♥ and Dennis Weiss defended from the big blind with A♥Q♣J♠2♦. The flop came 9♠6♠4♣
and the action checked through to the 7♠ on the turn and the 9♣ on the river.

Weiss finally took a stab at the pot with a bet of 1,450,000 but Duek was waiting to pick him off with trip nines. Duek raked in the pot and took a step ahead of Weiss on the leaderboard.

Michael Duek raised to 1,750,000 on the button with 10♣9♦8♦3♦ and Dennis Weiss called from the big blind with 10♦7♠7♥6♥. The flop came 6♠5♣4♣ and Weiss checked to Duek who continued with a bet of 1,500,000. Weiss just called and the 3♠ landed on the turn.

Weiss checked again after picking up a straight and Duek fired out a bet of 6,000,000. Weiss check-raised all in for just over 18,000,000 and Duek instantly mucked his cards.

Michael Duek raised the pot to 1,400,000 on the button with the Q♦J♦10♦10♣ and Jeffrey Hakim called in the small blind with the 7♠6♦5♠4♦. The double-suited rundown flopped a full house on 7♣7♦5♣ and he checked, Duek bet 1,200,000 and Hakim called.

That led them to the 8♣ on the turn and Hakim checked once more, Duek now checked back and the 2♣ then followed on the river.

Hakim now bet 2,000,000 for one third of the pot and Duek quickly folded. After the hand, the remaining three players went on their first scheduled break.

Dennis Weiss limped the button with the J♠J♣5♦4♣ and Michael Duek called out of the small blind holding the 10♥10♦6♠4♦, Jeffrey Hakim in the big blind checked his option with the K♥Q♥8♠5♣.

The K♣8♦3♠ flop was checked to Weiss, who bet 750,000. That got rid of Duek but Hakim called with his top two pair.

That led to the A♣ turn on which Hakim checked again, Weiss bet 2,100,000 and Hakim called.

The Q♣ river gave Weiss the nut flush and Hakim checked the third street in a row. Weiss now carefully considered his next option before he eventually declared "pot" for a bet of 7,300,000.

Hakim conceded two time banks but no further chips to avoid a major setback, sending his cards into the muck.

Out of the small blind, Michael Duek raised the pot to 1,200,000 and Jeffrey Hakim called out of the big blind.

On the J♠J♦10♣ flop, Duek continued for 700,000 and Hakim raised it up to 1,700,000 with two times as many chips behind. Duek opted to flat call and the A♠ followed on the turn. Both players checked to the 7♣ on the river and Duek then bet the pot, Hakim instantly called all-in.

Duek had flopped the full house only for Hakim to turn the superior full house. Both slow-played their premium hands and Hakim earned the full double.

In a preflop raising war, Dennis Weiss was aiming to send the second opponent to the payout desk in a row when he got it in against Evan Krentzman.

Dennis Weiss: K♥K♦10♣2♣

The A♦J♣5♣ flop vaulted Krentzman into the lead but he had plenty of outs to dodge, as Weiss had a gutshot and flush draw. Nothing changed with the 3♠ turn and the 8♦ river was a brick as well, prompting some "let's goooo" from Krentzman's rail.

Dennis Weiss opened to 1,050,000 from the cutoff with K♣J♥6♣2♦ and Michael Duek defended from the big blind with A♠K♠J♠7♦. The flop came A♣10♣2♥and Duek check-called a bet of 1,150,000 from Weiss.

The 10♠ paired the board on the turn and Duek checked again. Weiss put together another bet of 2,050,000 with his combo draw but Duek still called. The 3♠ completed the board and Duek checked for the third time. Weiss checked it back after bricking out and Duek closed the gap between himself and the chip leader.
