Zachary Zaret Wins Event 21: $1,500 PL Omaha Hi-Lo

After a lightning-fast heads-up duel Zachary Zaret has defeated Calvin Anderson heads-up to capture his first WSOP gold bracelet.

Calvin Anderson Eliminated in 2nd Place

In the second hand of heads-up play Zachary Zaret opened to 500,000 from the button and Calvin Anderson three-bet to 1,500,000 from the big blind. Zaret called.

The flop came 2♦A♠6♠ and Anderson continued for 1,900,000. Zaret raised to 4,200,000 and Anderson shoved for around 13,000,000. Zaret called with a covering stack to put Anderson at risk.

Anderson had two pair and a seven-five low draw while Zaret had a flush draw, pair of jacks and superior five-three low draw. The flush came in on the Q♠ turn giving Zaret the lead and he remained in front on the Q♦ river to eliminate Anderson in second place and win the final hand of the night.

Christopher Vitch shoved for 520,000 from the small blind and Zachary Zaret called from the big blind to put him at risk.

The board ran out K♥10♦6♠Q♦9♦. No low was possible and Zaret had the nut-flush to eliminate Vitch and enter heads-up play with a small lead over Calvin Anderson.

Zaret Quarters Vitch to Take the Chip Lead

Christopher Vitch opened to 550,000 from the button and Zachary Zaret called from the small blind.

The flop came J♠3♥7♣. Zaret checked and Vitch bet 1,000,000. Zaret bet 3,000,000 and Vitch moved all in, covering Zaret who had a bit over 11,000,000 to start the hand. A short-stacked Calvin Anderson watched on as Zaret called, putting himself at risk with over 80% of the total chips in play in the middle.

Vitch had a monster with an overpair and the nut-low draw but Zaret was ahead with two pair and the nut-low draw. The rest of the board ran out 8♦Q♠. Zaret and Vitch chopped the low while Zaret was good with two pair for the high and took down three quarters of the pot.

Darryll Fish Eliminated in 4th Place

Christopher Vitch opened to 400,000 from the button and Darryll Fish responded with a pot-sized raise to 1,360,000 from the small blind, leaving 360,000 behind. Vitch called.

The flop came A♦J♣9♠. Fish shoved for his remaining chips and Vitch called to put him at risk.

Fish had top pair, top kicker but was in bad shape against Vitch's two pair. Fish found no help when the rest of the board ran out 2♠2♥ and was sent to the rail while Vitch extended his lead over the rest of the field.

Ronnie Tate Eliminated in 5th Place

Christopher Vitch raised to 480,000 from the small blind, Ronnie Tate three-bet shoved for around 800,000 from the big blind and Vitch called with a covering stack to put him at risk.

The board ran out A♦6♥10♥9♦3♦. Tate had flopped a set but Vitch had turned a straight to send Tate to the rail in brutal fashion.

Bryce Yockey opened to 420,000 from the hijack, leaving 310,000 behind, and Calvin Anderson called from the cutoff.

The flop came 6♣2♦6♥ and Yockey fired a 250,000 continuation-bet that Anderson called.

Yockey put in his last 60,000 on the 5♦ turn and Anderson called with a covering stack to put him at risk.

Anderson had a straight and the nut-low leaving Yockey drawing dead. After the inconsequential J♥ river Anderson scooped the pot while Yockey's deep run came to an end in sixth place.

After Calvin Anderson raised under the gun, Marco Johnson went all in with his final 870,000 chips from the big blind and got the call.

The rollout came 9♦9♥K♣A♠9♣, giving Anderson a full house with nines over tens.

Andres Korn opened to 225,000 from the hijack and received calls from Bryce Yockey on the button, Calvin Anderson in the small blind and Christopher Vitch in the big blind.

The flop came K♣10♣7♦. Anderson checked and Vitch bet 325,000. Korn raised to 1,700,000 which forced folds from Yockey and Anderson. Vitch moved all in, slightly covering Korn who started the hand with roughly 4,400,000. Korn called, putting himself at risk.

Korn winced upon seeing that he was on the wrong side of a set-over-set cooler. with only one out to take the high and backdoors to take the low. A chop was possible on the 6♠ turn but the Q♠ river was a brick and Korn was sent to the rail in brutal fashion while Vitch took down the biggest pot of the tournament so far by a wide margin.

Donny Rubinstein, limped under the gun, calling the 80,000 big blind. Calvin Anderson limped from the button as well.

Christopher Vitch was having none of that. He raised 400,000 on the button, which put Rubinstein all in once he made the call.

The runout of A♥10♥4♥8♣Q♦resulted in each having two pair, but Vitch took down the pot with the top two, aces and queens.

Amnon Filippi raised from the cutoff, Calvin Anderson, who was in the big blind, called a pot raise of 960,000, which would put Filippi all-in were he to call. He did.

The flop opened a flush draw for Anderson and it got home on the river in a runout of 10♠2♠7♣K♣9♠. No low qualified and Filippi was out of the tournament just shy of making the final table.

Christopher Vitch limped in from the cutoff, Yehuda Buchalter called in the small blind and Marco Johnson checked in the big blind.

The flop came K♠10♥8♠. Buchalter checked, Johnson bet 180,000 and Vitch responded with a pot-sized raise. Buchalter shoved for a bit more, Johnson folded and Vitch called with a covering stack to put him at risk.

Buchalter was drawing thin with bottom set versus Vitch's top set. He found no help on the J♣3♥ runout and he became the first player to be sent to the rail today.

, Hart went all in, and Tate made the call.

Andres Korn opened to 100,000 from middle position, Bryce Yockey called from the button and Justin Liberto defended from the big blind.

The flop came 5♥9♦8♦and Liberto shoved for 260,000. Korn called, Yockey shoved and Korn, who was covered with around 600,000 behind, called and was also at risk.
