Hooman Nikzad Eliminated in 2nd Place
($158,481)

After losing the first few pots of heads up and chopping with the nut straight, Hooman Nikzad started the action with a raise to 650,000.

Carlos Leiva responded with another raise to 2,450,000 and Nikzad made the call.

The wheel spun, J♣10♦5♦ and Leiva declated a pot-sized bet. Nikzad pushed him remaining chips forward and Leiva pushed forward a stack to make it official.

Hooman Nikzad: 9♦8♣3♦3♣ All in
Carlos Leiva: K♣K♠J♥2♠

The board ran out with the Q♥ and the 9♠, giving Nikzad a straight but Leiva declared his better straight and upon confirming, him and his rail burst into celebration.

Brian Mckain Eliminated in 3rd Place
($114,399)

Carlos Leiva limped in the small blind, and Brian Mckain checked his option.

The dealer fanned out a 7♦3♠4♣ flop, and Leiva check-called a bet of 500,000.

Things escalated quickly on the 10♥ turn, though. Leiva checked, Mckain bet 1,350,000, and Leiva immediately moved all in for Mckain's remaining stack, which he called.

Brian Mckain: 9♦8♦3♦3♣ All in
Carlos Leiva: Q♣6♦5♥3♥

A cooler flop blind versus blind, Mckain had bottom set but had been outflopped by Leiva, who held a straight.

Mckain needed the river to pair or to hit a higher straight, but unfortunately, the 9♣was no help.

Leiva dragged in yet another pot and Mckain departed in third place.

“Two Pair, Red Ones and Black Ones”

Carlos Leiva opened the button to 600,000, to which Brian Mckain responded by betting the pot. As quick as a flash, Leiva had moved all in, and Mckain had called, putting himself at risk.

Brian Mckain: A♥A♦7♥4♠ All in
Carlos Leiva: K♣10♠9♠8♣

The flop A♣2♥4♦ all but assured the pot was heading in Mckains direction, but in case there was any doubt, the turn A♠ sealed the deal.

The dealer turned over the mandatory river card, coming the 8♠, before Mckain scooped in twice as many chips as he started with.

A boisterous two-man rail, here supporting Mckain, bellowed from the seats, "Two pair! Red ones and black ones!"

Mckain’s Stack Dwindles; Day 3 Sickness

After his previous flurry of hands, Brian McKain's stack has dwindled to half of what it was.

McKain came into the day under the weather and has been suffering since the start. He can be seen covering his eyes from the overhead lights with his head down.

His rail continues to cheer him on when he scoops the pot, "Another one for the good doctor!!" continues to bolster his attitude.

"You really learn a lot about yourself..." McKain said when discussing the difficulty of battling through the biggest stage on such a big day.

McKain Finds a Flurry; It’s Anyone’s Game

Brian Mckain had gotten down to less than 2,000,000 and he opened the button to 560,000. Carlos Leiva made the call in the big blind.

The flop brought the 9♣4♠5♣ and McKain pushed his remaining chips in the middle. Leiva folded.

Over the next three hands, McKain was able to chip up more by potting it preflop over limps and garnering folds.

A Few Hands Later:

Carlos Leiva raised to 300,000 and Brian McKain raised to 1,500,000 from the small blind. Leiva called.

Heads up to the 2♣8♦5♣ saw Viera lead for 1,000,000 and McKain made the call.

Both players checked the 6♦ that came in.

The river brought the 9♦ and Viera bet 200,000. McKain declared an all in and Viera weighed his options before flicking in the call and seeing the bad news.

McKain tabled A♦3♦K♠8♥ for the nut flush and a disappointed Viera flashes a straight with all black cards.

Dylan Weisman Eliminated in 4th Place
($83,503)

Hooman Nikzad opened for 450,000 before seeing Dylan Weisman three-bet to 1,430,000. Nikzad made the call and then asked Weisman how much he had left behind. The answer being that the three-bet was for the majority of Weisman's stack.

The flop came down 3♣5♥J♥, and Weisman moved all in. Nikzad wasted no time and snapped it off.

Dylan Weisman: A♠A♥9♠9♦ All in
Hooman Nikzad: K♠K♥6♠3♥

Weisman was ahead but had a lot to dodge. The turn brought the 4♦, giving Nikzad yet more outs.

Weisman called for a black card on the river, and although the red card that was dealt wasn't a heart, it was the 2♦, giving Nikzad a straight and sending Weisman to the payout desk.

Kyle Rosnes Eliminated in 5th Place
($61,641)

Carlos Leiva raised to 460,000 and it folded to Kyle Rosnes who was all in for the big blind with no option.

Kyle Rosnes: 8♥5♠4♣2♦All in
Carlos Leiva: K♣J♠10♥9♠

The flop gave Rosnes hope as it spread 2♥7♦8♣, but Leiva snapped off the 10♣ to make a straight.

Rosnes had four outs to a boat, but it wasn't meant to be when the J♣ fell off the deck.

Kyle Rosnes: A♦9♦7♥3♣ All in
Carlos Leiva: 9♠8♦6♠5♣

The flop rolled Q♥Q♣7♦ and Rosnes got the check mark on the Q♦ turn, making the A♥ a formality.

Joshua Palmer Eliminated in 6th Place

Action folded to Joshua Palmer in middle position, and he raised to 420,000, a pot-sized bet, leaving him just 20,000 behind. When the action folded to Carlos Leiva, he raised to commit the last few chips of Palmer. Palmer called, and the cards were turned over.

Joshua Palmer: 9♣8♦6♥5♥ All in
Carlos Leiva: A♥J♦5♣2♦

The flop 9♠7♥4♦ was great for Palmer, but the turn 7♦ gave Leiva plenty of opportunities to catch up.

The river A♦ allowed him to do just that, his rivered flush allowing him to compound his huge chip lead and send Palmer to the rail.

Florian Ribouchon Eliminated in 7th Place
($34,761)

Carlos Leiva limped in early position, which encouraged Dylan Weisman to do the same, two seats to his left. Action then folded to Florian Ribouchon in the small blind, who raised to 600,000. Leiva folded, but Weisman then back-raised, putting Ribouchon all in. Ribouchon called, and the cards were turned on their backs.

Florian Ribouchon: K♠K♣4♣3♠ All in
Dylan Weisman: A♠A♦A♣5♣

The flop 2♥10♣2♣ was of little help to Ribouchon; both players flopped a flush draw, but it was Weisman with the higher draw.

The turn 7♥ meant Ribouchon had to hit one of the two remaining kings. Alas, the river 5♥ sealed his fate.

Weisman pulled in a crucial pot, and Ribouchon headed for the exit.

Leiva Catches Ribouchon’s Bluff; An Overwhelming Chip Leader

Brian Mckain raised to 325,000. Florian Ribouchon called on the button, Hooman Nikzad called from the small, and Carlos Leiva called from the big.

Four ways, the wheel spun 9♦2♦Q♥. Nikzad checked, and Leiva took the initiative with a bet of 450,000. Only Ribouchon called.

The turn brought 4♦ and Leiva checked. Ribouchon pushed forward a bet of 1,500,000 and Ribouchon called.

The river completed with the 3♣ and Leiva checked again. Ribouchon cut out 4,000,000 from his stack and Leiva made a pained call.

Ribouchon tabled the Q♠10♠J♥2♥ in defeat, causing Leiva to quickily show his A♠J♦8♦7♦ for a flush.
