5 EXCITING MIXED GAME EVENTS AT THE 2025 WSOP

Seasoned poker players are aware of the variety of poker games that exist outside of no-limit hold’em, but it is hard to ignore the rising popularity mixed games have had the past few years. Mixed game players will enjoy reading our list of some of the exciting mixed game tournaments scheduled to take place at the 2025 World Series of Poker (WSOP).


Las Vegas, Nevada (Friday, February 28th 2025) - As the game of poker continues to draw new fans and rise in popularity, not only are more players learning how to play Texas Hold’em, but a variety of mixed games as well.


Mixed game tournaments have slowly been drawing bigger fields the past few years, as games like Badugi, Seven Card Stud, and Razz become more common in poker rooms around the world.

#1 - Event #8: $1,500 Dealers Choice

Dates: Friday, May 30th - Sunday, June 1st, 2025

A popular mixed games tournament usually offered towards the beginning of each WSOP, the $1,500 Dealers Choice is one of the first few events offered at the 2025 WSOP, and is scheduled to start on Friday, May 30th.


Last year, Poker Hall of Fame member John Hennigan won his seventh career WSOP bracelet and $138,296 by outlasting the 530 player field in the $1,500 Dealer’s Choice 6-max tournament.


#2 - Event #39: $1,500 H.O.R.S.E.


Buy-in: $1,500

Dates: Wednesday, June 11th - Friday, June 13th, 2025

Featured Games: Limit Hold'em, Omaha Hi-Lo 8 or Better, Razz, Seven Card Stud, Seven Card Stud Hi-Lo 8 or Better


While having less variety with game selection than a Dealers Choice event, H.O.R.S.E. is a staple of the game fancied by poker purists. Drawing a 835 total field with a prize pool over $1 million at the 2024 WSOP, the $1,500 H.O.R.S.E. tournament may very well draw over 1,000 players this year.


In 2024, multi-time WSOP champion Phillip Hui won the $193,545 first place prize and his fourth career bracelet in the $1,500 H.O.R.S.E. event.


#3 - Event #58: $3,000 Nine Game Mix

Dates: Saturday, June 21st - Monday, June 23rd, 2025

Looking for some medium stakes for your mixed games? Look no further than Event #58, offering a Nine Game Mix tournament with a $3,000 buy-in. One of the few mixed game events to include “the Cadillac of poker”, players can enjoy the occasional hand of Hold’em in this tournament.


At the end of last year's 7-handed $3,000 Nine Game Mix event, Brazilian crusher Yuri Dzivielevski finished on top of the 379 player field to win his fifth career WSOP bracelet and $215,982.


#4 - Event #18: $10,000 Dealers Choice 6-Handed Championship
