10 THINGS TO KNOW ABOUT MAIN EVENT DAY 1A AT THE DINNER BREAK

Don't let the relaxed atmosphere of Day 1 of the Main Event fool you, six hours in and stories are developing, players are busting, and things are getting increasingly more serious with every blind jump. Here are some things you should know after three levels of 1A play:
1. There is exactly one place to be if you aren't playing the Main Event and that is in the Pavilion Room grinding today's satellite events. The 1pm $1,000 satellite event is putting 88 players into the Main Event and the 4pm $550 satty is sending along another 32. The full satellite schedule is available on WSOP.com.
2. We’ve got two Poker Players Championship winners in the field today and still alive and kicking, this year’s winner John Hennigan and last year’s winner Matthew Ashton. Scotty Nguyen is the only player who can lay claim to both the Main Event and $50,000 PPC bracelets, though two-time PPC winner Michael Mizrachi did final table the Main Event in 2010.
3. Three-time Olympic gymnastic medalist Aly Raisman is hoping her dad takes home a piece of gold himself. She Tweeted earlier, wishing her father well in the Main Event field today:
4. If those roaming around the Rio are wondering where the ESPN cameras are, they won't be here until Day 4 this year, beginning coverage at the money bubble. That is not to say they are completely absent though, as one small crew is on hand to capture some of the famous faces in the 1A field.
5. Earlier in the day, we reported there were two Main Event Champs in today’s field. That number has grown to five, as Tom McEvoy, Johnny Chan, Chris Moneymaker, Greg Merson, and defending champ Ryan Riess are all still in the field. In fact, Merson and Riess are sharing a table on the ESPN stage.
6. It appears the first player to six figures in this year’s Main Event is Nick DiVella, who hit the benchmark midway through Level 3. DiVella knows what it takes to succeed in this tournament though. He finished 72nd in the Main Event back in 2012, pocketing a six-figure payday of $106,056.
7. Seven-time bracelet winner and Poker Hall of Famer Billy Baxter is in the field today and chipping up as we head to dinner. Other Hall of Famers in today's field include the recently inducted Tom McEvoy, and Mike SExton.
8. Last year’s eighth place finisher in the Main Event, David Benefield, is the first of the ’13 class of November Niners to exit from this year’s event. He busted in the later stages of Level 3, offering the following parting Tweet:
9. After beginning the day with three tables and 23 players, the official nine-handed final table was underway just about three hours after Day 3 play began. That field is still nine-handed and can be found on the WSOP livestream.
10. It will be around 10pm once the field size of Day 1A is finalized and ready to announce. Keep an eye on @WSOP for the info as soon as it is available.
