Daniel Rezaei Wins Event #4: $50,000 NLH High Roller Turbo for $1,900,000 and First Bracelet

WSOP Paradise continued today from Atlantis, Paradise Island, Bahamas, with Event #4: $50,000 NLH High Roller Turbo.

The tournament drew a total of 151 entrants to create a prize pool worth $7,625,500, and after a little more than 12 hours of play,

@Daniel Rezaei

took the bulk share of it, collecting the $1,900,000 first-place prize and his first WSOP gold bracelet after defeating

@Mustapha Kanit

heads-up.

Rezaei maneuvered a star-studded field in this single-day event to reach a final table that included

@Joao Simao

,

@Thomas Boivin

,

@Michael Moncek

, and Triton boss Paul

@Phua

, among others.

Rezaei entered the final table third in chips, but remained patient while the big stacks collided. Phua was responsible for most of the carnage, and had nearly two-thirds of the chips in play at one point, but he would ultimately cool off and was eliminated by Rezaei in third-place when his king-queen couldn’t improve against Rezaei’s ace-nine.

This sent Rezaei into heads-up play with Kanit as the slight chip leader, but he fell short after chipping down in a few pots that went Kanit’s way. However, he was able to find a double with king-nine offsuit against Kanit’s ten-eight suited to shift the momentum back. The tournament ended when Kanit shoved the button for six-and-a-half big blinds with queen-four offsuit and Rezaei called with king-five offsuit. Both players had a club, but Rezaei had Kanit pipped, which came into play after the dealer ran out a four club board to eliminate Kanit.

With this win, the Austrian poker pro has now accumulated more than $10,000,000 in lifetime earnings, and sits fourth on Austria’s all time money list, neck-and-neck with fellow participant in this very tournament,

@Samuel Mullur

.

Mustapha Kanit Eliminated in 2nd Place ($1,215,000)

After exchanging chips with

@Daniel Rezaei

for a bit,

@Mustapha Kanit

moved all in from the button for 6,600,000, and Rezaei called in the big blind.

Kanit:

Q

Rezaei:

K

The

K
J

board gave both players plenty to chew on, and the

4

on the turn gave Kanit additional help. However, the

6

landed on the river to put Rezaei’s five of clubs in play and Kanit was eliminated as the runner-up.

@Joao Simao

was forced all in for 600,000 in the big blind.

@Mustapha Kanit

called on the button, and Paul

@Phua

Simao:

Things looked grim for Simao after the dealer fanned an

Tyler Moncek Scores Back-to Back Eliminations to Take Over Tournamnet Chip Lead

After eliminating

@Kristen Foxen
