THE 2023/24 CIRCUIT SEASON STARTS MONDAY IN CHOCTAW DURANT
Las Vegas, Nevada (16 July, 2023) - The World Series of Poker Circuit is back! July 17th marks the first day of the 2023/24 Circuit season, as the Choctaw Durant Casino & Resort kicks off another action-packed Circuit tour.
The massively successful 54th Annual World Series of Poker is in the books, with record-breaking fields across the board crowned by a 10,043 Main Event field to break the long-lasting Main Event record from 2006.
To build on the momentum from the summer series, the 2023 Circuit season will see an increase in media coverage, with more focus on the preliminary events compared to last year, and elevated coverage to national and international audiences across WSOP.com and our social media channels.
The series in Choctaw features no less than twenty ring events and almost $2 Million in guarantees. The action begins Monday, with the $250 Seniors Super Stack. The event is a scheduled one-day affair with a $50,000 guarantee and is open for players aged 50 years or older.
The first open ring event will get underway on Tuesday, with a Circuit classic, the No-Limit Hold'em Monster Stack. The two-day event is boosted with a $100,000 guarantee and will have cards in the air at 11 AM.
One of the larger events of the series is expected to be the $500 No-Limit Hold'em event called "The Gargantuan". The Gargantuan entails two separate starting flights, which will run Thursday and Friday, consecutively. The event has drawn large numbers for the last couple of years, with 1,627 runners back in January, generating a total prizepool of $573,910. In other words, this year's $300,000 guarantee is expected to get crushed.
The marquee event of the series will get underway, Thursday, July 27th. The $1,700 MAIN EVENT is boosted with a whooping $1 Million guarantee and will have cards in the air Thursday at 11 AM.
The Main Event has two starting flights: Thursday, January July 27th, and Friday, July 28th. Wichita's Chase Davis emerged victorious in the Choctaw Circuit Main Event in January and will sit as the reigning champion until this year’s Main event concludes, on Sunday, July 30th.
All official gold ring winners from this WSOP Circuit stop will qualify for the new invitation-only “Tournament of Champions”. The $1 million freeroll event will be held during the 2024 World Series of Poker tournament in Las Vegas. 2023/24 online bracelet winners will also be eligible.
