Las Vegas, Nevada (September 1, 2026) - The latest WSOP Circuit stop at Horseshoe Tunica concluded with a familiar name once again on top. Matt Higgins captured first place in the $1,700 No-Limit Hold’em Main Event, earning $110,851 and his 10th WSOP Circuit gold ring after defeating a field of 367 entries.

One of the few poker players to reach 10 WSOP Circuit rings, Higgins joins the likes of Maurice Hawkins, Ari Engel, and Daniel Lowery as one of the Circuit’s most accomplished players.

The Main Event was the centerpiece of the August 20-31 Circuit series at Horseshoe Tunica in Robinsonville, Mississippi. The tournament featured two starting flights on August 28 and 29 and carried a $400,000 guarantee. The 367-entry turnout ultimately pushed the prize pool to $556,005, providing a substantial payday for the players who navigated the three-day tournament.

For Higgins, the victory was another remarkable addition to an already decorated 2026. Just two months after winning his first WSOP bracelet and a $1 million prize in Las Vegas, Higgins returned to Circuit action and claimed his 10th ring. The victory also marked his third WSOP Circuit Main Event title and his second Main Event victory at Horseshoe Tunica.

Higgins faced Daniel Garner heads-up for the championship, entering the final duel with approximately a 2-to-1 chip advantage. Garner mounted a strong challenge, but Higgins ultimately closed out the tournament. On the final hand, Garner moved all in for roughly 1.7 million after Higgins opened the button. Higgins made the call, and the turn gave him a flush, leaving Garner drawing dead. Garner collected $74,824 as the runner-up.

Bradley Pollard finished third for $51,592, while Walker Miskelly earned $36,346 in fourth. David Moses, Kim Francisco, Debbie Lee, Nicholas Rigby and Larry Murphy completed the nine-player final table.

Higgins' latest triumph further establishes him as one of the premier WSOP Circuit players of his generation. With 10 rings and three Main Event victories, his performance at Horseshoe Tunica added another significant chapter to an already outstanding 2026 season.
