HORSESHOE TUNICA CIRCUIT BEGINS THURSDAY

14 January 2020 (Tunica, MS) - The first World Series of Poker Circuit stop of the 2019/2020 season at Horseshoe Tunica starts on Thursday, January 16th.

A total of 13 official World Series of Poker Circuit events are on schedule and the first gold ring will be awarded on the first day of the series. Indeed, action will kick off on Thursday, January 16th, with a one-day event, Event #1: $400 No-Limit Hold’em Double Stack. .

The following day will be packed with action as Event #2: $400 No-Limit Hold'em (1 Day) will get underway on Friday, January 17th, at 11 a.m, and the first starting flight of Event #3: $400 No-Limit Hold'em (3 Flights) will begin in the afternoon at 4 p.m. This event offers three starting flights and will be the highlight of the first weekend.

This won't be the only multi-flight event of the series as the WSOP Signature Event, Event #7: $400  No-Limit Hold'em Monster Stack is scheduled to begin on Tuesday, January 21st and features two flights. The much-anticipated $1,700 Main Event also features two starting days and will start on the last Friday of the series, on January 24th.

Last season, Blake Whittington won the Main Event after topping a field of 466 players. He collected $151,789 and the fifth Circuit ring of his career.

Other highlights within this stop include a $400 Pot-Limit Omaha event that will take place on January 20th and a $600 No-Limit Hold'em event that is scheduled on January 23rd.

The winner of the Main Event and the Casino Champion will earn a seat to the 2020 Global Casino Championship where they will compete for a prize pool worth more than $1 million. In order to become the Casino Champion, the player must get the most points during the Circuit stop. More information on the Global Casino Championship leaderboard can be found on WSOP.com.
