Elgin, IL (November 8, 2022) - The World Series of Poker arrives at the Grand Victoria Casino for the first time in WSOP history, featuring 16 ring events and almost $1 million in guarantees. 

There is a lot of excitement in the air as Grand Victoria, a riverboat casino on the Fox River in Elgin, IL, will host its first-ever WSOP Circuit. The casino opened up its new WSOP poker room with Chris Moneymaker cutting the ceremonial ribbon just two weeks ago and will host its first Circuit series starting Thursday, November 10th. 

The series will get underway with a Circuit classic, the $400 No-Limit Hold'em Double Stack. The event is a scheduled one-day affair with cards in the air at 11:00 AM, and players will start with a large stack of 40,000.

Later in the afternoon, Event #2: $600 No-Limit Hold'em will kick off. The event is boosted with a $300,000 guarantee and stretched over four starting flights. Flight A will start at 4:00 PM, Thursday, followed by two flights on Friday (Flight B at 11:00 AM, and Flight C at 4:00 PM). The final starting flight will have cards in the air Saturday, at 11:00 AM. All flights will merge on Sunday, November 13th, and play down to a winner.

The series also features two seniors events for players 50 years or older (Nov 13th and Nov 20th) and one ladies' event (Nov 15th).

The marquee tournament of the series, the $1,700 No-Limit Hold'em Main Event, will get underway Thursday, November 17th. The Main Event has $500,000 in guaranteed prize money, and players can choose between three starting flights. Flight A will have cards in the air Thursday, November 17th at 11:00 AM, and Flight B and Flight C will follow the next two days at the same starting time. The three-day event will conclude Monday, November 21st, with the first Grand Victoria WSOP Circuit Main Event winner in history will be crowned.

Any official gold ring winners from this WSOP Circuit stop will qualify for the invitation-only “Tournament of Champions." The $1 million freeroll event will be held during the 2023 World Series of Poker tournament in Las Vegas. 2023 online and live bracelet winners will also be eligible to compete in the new signature event.
