DAY THREE OF THE POKER PLAYER'S CHAMPIONSHIP IN THE BOOKS - JOSH ARIEH LEADS THE WAY
After a third day of play in the $50,000 buy-in Poker Player’s Championship, only 29 players remain.
Leading the way after five levels of play on day three is Josh Arieh with 1.8 million in chips. Brian Rast and George Lind round out the top three with 1.6 and 1.3 million in chips.
The start of day chip leader, Ben Lamb, took heavy damage to his stack early in the day, falling near the bottom of the leader board. Lamb however, was able to chip back up to end the day in the middle of the pack.
The remaining four tables will resume play Tuesday at 3:00 pm PST to play down to a final table.
The Poker Player’s championship features eight variations of poker and is considered to be among the most prestigious events of the year. The event attracts poker’s top brass, each in contention for this year’s top prize, worth over $1.7 million dollars and the WSOP gold bracelet.
Participation in this year’s Player’s Championship is up 10% over 2010. 128 players entered this year’s event, generating a total prize pool of $6,144,000.
