A dramatic end to the 2025 WSOP Europe Main Event

After securing a double-up to bring chip stacks nearly even during heads-up play, Austrian poker pro Gerald Karlic seemed to be on his way to achieving the comeback win, or at the very least extending what was already a lengthy heads-up match.

After Daniel Pidun raised preflop, Karlic responded with a three-bet, which was met with a four-bet from Pidun.

Looking down at pocket jacks, Karlic decided to put all of his remaining chips in play, only to be snap called by Pidun, who flipped over pocket aces.

Despite flush opportunities arriving for Karlic on the turn, the river would be no help for the Austrian, as Pidun successfully used his pocket rockets to claim the 2025 WSOP Europe Main Event title.

Congratulations to Daniel Pidun for his victory in the 2025 WSOP Europe Main Event! We hope to see you and many WSOP bracelet winners at WSOP Super Circuit Cyprus and WSOP Paradise 2025.
