PATRIK ANTONIUS ANNOUNCED AS 2024 POKER HALL OF FAME INDUCTEE

Antonius becomes the latest poker legend immortalized inside the new WSOP Hall of Fame Poker Room at Horseshoe Las Vegas.

LAS VEGAS (July 14, 2024) Following a nomination process and voting period, the World Series of Poker® (WSOP®) today announced Patrik Antonius as the 2024 inductee to the Poker Hall of Fame. The Finland native was honored with an induction ceremony surrounded by friends, family, and fans inside the Paris Ballroom at Paris Las Vegas before delivering the ceremonial “Shuffle Up and Deal” for Event #95: Poker Hall of Fame Bounty No-Limit Hold'em.

Antonius, from Helsinki, Finland, is one of poker’s most successful European players, ranking 36th all-time in career earnings with $22,995,774 to date. In 2023, Antonius made history by winning a $1,978,000 cash game pot, the largest ever on a U.S. livestream broadcast. Antonius edged “Miami” John Cernuto and Isai Scheinberg in the voting to secure his 2024 nomination.

“In the modern era of poker, few have been as bold and fearless as Patrik Antonius,” said Ty Stewart, Executive Director of the World Series of Poker. “A force both online and live, we’re thrilled to see Patrik’s high-stakes career acknowledged by legends who have added the first international player to the Poker Hall of Fame in a number of years.”

Following the induction ceremony, the WSOP unveiled Antonius’ photo at Hall of Fame Poker Room inside Horseshoe Las Vegas. The room opened in July 2023 and features a first-of-its-kind Poker Hall of Fame exhibit acknowledging poker’s most legendary players with a Gallery of Champions, WSOP bracelets and rings.

Located adjacent to the resort’s front entrance near the Lobby Bar, the 4,900-square-foot poker room features 18 custom poker tables with upscale furniture and equipment to offer players an elevated gaming experience. LED TVs surround the room giving players access to sports viewing, current game lists, and tournament clocks.

With today’s induction, Antonius becomes the 63rd member of the prestigious Poker Hall of Fame, joining this list of poker legends.

If you've ever watched the World Series of Poker and thought that could be me, you're not alone. Since 1970, the WSOP has been the place where that dream lives. Most people know the summer series in Las Vegas, where the $10,000 Main Event turns ordinary players into legends. But the WSOP calendar has grown well beyond that. WSOP Europe and WSOP Paradise now bring bracelet competition to international destinations, and dozens of Circuit events run year-round for players who want serious competition closer to home. Whether you're grinding a Circuit stop or taking your shot at the Main Event, the hardware means something. Winning a gold bracelet or Circuit ring is more than just a trophy. It's a permanent record that you are a champion. For players in Nevada, New Jersey, Michigan, and Pennsylvania, WSOP Online has become something worth paying attention to. It's the only platform in the US where you can win a poker tournament for official WSOP gold bracelets without leaving home! The WSOP also offers deposit limits and self-exclusion tools because the best poker rooms have always known that keeping poker players healthy keeps the game healthy. From your first Circuit event to a final table in Las Vegas, WSOP is still where you go to prove something.
