HARRAH'S CHEROKEE CIRCUIT PREVIEW
Las Vegas, Nevada (May 2, 2023) - The Horseshoe Tunica World Series of Poker Circuit concluded yesterday, which means that there are only two more stops before the WSOP returns home to Las Vegas for the 54th Annual World Series of Poker.
As always, we will finish the Circuit season strong with a fourth and final visit to the Circuit powerhouse, Harrah's Cherokee, in Ashville, North Carolina. The series will run between May 4th - May 15th, featuring no less than 18 ring events and over $3 Million in guaranteed prize money.
The series kicks off on Thursday, with the $400 No-Limit Hold'em Big 30K Stack, followed by the four-flight $400 No-Limit Hold'em event. A large field is anticipated to enter the second event of the series, and the $500,000 guarantee can be expected to get smashed. Just a few months ago, the same event attracted a record-breaking field of 3,120 entries, generating a total prize pool of $816,755.
Other highlights on the schedule include the $400 Monster Stack (May 9), the $2,200 High Roller (May 14) and the marquee event of the series - the $1,700 MAIN EVENT.
The $1,700 Main Event will consist of three starting flights, with Flight A starting at 11:00 AM on May 11 and Flight B and C starting at the same time the two following days. The three-day event will conclude on the last day of the series, Monday, May 15. The last Main Event at Harrah's Cherokee drew a whopping 1,703 entries, for a total prize pool of $2,356,299. Brian Altman took it down that time and will sit as the reigning champion until this year’s Main Event conclude.
All official gold ring winners from this WSOP Circuit stop will qualify for the invitation-only “Tournament of Champions”. The $1 million freeroll event will be held during the 2023 World Series of Poker tournament in Las Vegas. 2023 Online winners will also be eligible to compete in the signature event.
