SECOND TO LAST CIRCUIT STOP HITS HORSESHOE BALTIMORE STARTING THURSDAY

The World Series of Poker Circuit hits Baltimore with 12 events in 12 days kicking off April 26th.

Baltimore, MD. (April 24, 2018) – The 2017/2018 World Series of Poker Circuit season is beginning to wind its way down as only two stops remain this season. On Thursday, the Horseshoe Baltimore series kicks off with another 12 circuit rings up for grabs, culminating in the $500,000 guaranteed main event.

The series will start off with a $365 no-limit hold’em tournament and will quickly launch into the second biggest guarantee of the series with a $250,000 guaranteed no-limit hold’em re-entry tournament with five starting flights. The event will last three days beginning on April 26th at 5 p.m. and playing down to a winner on Monday, April 30th. A similar event last year brought out 3,641 entrants and re-entrants, creating a prizepool of over $1,000,000. Michael Liang was the winner of that event beating out Chad J. Brown heads up, taking home $182,920 as well as his first WSOPC ring.

Most of the other events on this year’s schedule for the Horseshoe Baltimore are circuit staples, including Event #5: $365 No-Limit Hold’em 6-handed Re-Entry, as well as Event #6: $365 Pot-Limit Omaha Re-Entry. Along with these are two no-limit hold’em turbo events on May 3rd and May 7th, both with buy-ins of $365. Event #11: $3,250 No-Limit Hold’em High Roller Re-Entry marks the biggest buy-in this series and marks a change from last year’s schedule, which did not feature a high roller. The two-day event kicks off on Sunday, May 6th at 5 p.m.

The Main Event starts just before that on Friday, May 4th at 11 a.m. Last year’s Horseshoe Baltimore Main Event saw a total of 449 entrants and re-entrants, creating a prizepool of $673,000. Circuit regular and bracelet winner Mike Cordell was able to best a star studded final table that included the likes of Maurice Hawkins, Josh Vizcarra, and Vanessa Truong before eventually defeating Alex Queen heads up. With that he took down his 3rd ring and the first place prize of $148,171. Cordell is now searching for his 5th ring and will look to grab it during this series.
