STARS SHINE AT PLANET HOLLYWOOD CIRCUIT

2 April 2018 (Las Vegas) – The last of this season’s three WSOP Circuit stops in Las Vegas wrapped up Monday night, as the last events of the Circuit series at Planet Hollywood concluded. This is the first time Planet Hollywood hosted the Circuit in March, and the series produced a number of memorable moments to mark the occasion.

Perhaps the most impressive performance of this Circuit stop belongs to Ben Zamani, who won the Main Event in dominating fashion. The Main Event drew a tough field, and the final table featured a lineup virtually no one would want to play against – Joseph Cheong, Dylan Wilkerson, Barry Hutter, Jesse Yaginuma, and Ben Palmer, to name a few. But Zamani absolutely ran away with. When he was four-handed against Hutter, Palmer, and Scott Powrie (who started the final day with chip lead), it was really just a battle of attrition among the other three to see who would last long enough to finish runner up.

Zamani won $192,152 for the victory. This is his first Circuit ring, but he already has two WSOP bracelets on his resume.

Later on Monday, former November Niner Joseph Cheong won the $2,200 High Roller event, earning $65,399 and his second career Circuit ring. His first was recently stolen, and he said afterwards that winning this one felt like redeption.

This series also showcased a potential emerging star. Samuel Lee (pictured above) won Casino Champion honors after cashing in four of the last five events, including his first Circuit ring. That was not only his first ring – it was also his first ever Circuit cash. He followed it up by cashing in the Main Event and then making two more final tables.

Lee’s performance earns him a free seat into the 2018 WSOP Global Casino Championship. Zamani also earns a free seat with his Main event victory.
