28 February 2017 (Las Vegas) – The WSOP Circuit series at the Rio is now complete. This was the first Circuit stop hre since 2005, the very first season of the Circuit.

Here are a few highlights:

In the Main Event, Ryan Jones (pictured) earned his second Circuit ring, taking home $269,327. His first ring was also a main event, from Harrah's Cherokee in 2015.

Then in the High Roller, Brandon Wittmeyer overcame a 10-1 deficit heads up to earn his first ring. Wittmeyer is already a bracelet winner, having won the 50/50 Event at the 2015 WSOP.


Casino Championship:

James Alexander is the Casino Championship at the Rio. Alexander has five cashes this series for 82.5 points. He min-cashed in the opening re-entry event for 2.5 points, and then won Event #2: $365 No-Limit Hold’em for 50 points. Alexander finished in 12th place in Event #6: $365 No-Limit Hold’em for 10 points, and then on Monday night finished in 39th place in the Main Event to add 10 more points to his total and pass Gregory Hartwick for the lead. He finished up the series with a 10th place finish in the High Roller.

The winner of the Rio Casino Championship will earn a free seat to the 2017 Global Casino Championship. The Global Casino Championship will have a $1 million guaranteed prizepool and award the winner a gold bracelet.
