COUNCIL BLUFFS, Iowa (April 9, 2017) – Flight B of the Main Event is complete. The two starting flights drew a combined 271 entries to generate a $406,500 prizepool. The winner will earn $97,561 and a free seat to the 2017 Global Casino Championship. Day is scheduled to begin Sunday at 12 p.m.

Day 2 will begin with 50 players remaining and the top 30 will cash. Ross Clare will enter Day 2 as the overall chip leader after bagging 525,500 chips in Flight A. Bagging the biggest stack in Flight B was Sam De Silva with 316,500 chips. The defending champion in this event, Maurice Hawkins, bagged a top 10 stack.

  • The winner will receive $11,675 and a WSOP Circuit gold ring
  • Day 2 starts at the beginning of Level 16: 1,500/3,000 with a 500 ante

New Events:

Event #12: $365 No-Limit Hold’em (30-minute levels) - 12 p.m.

  • Players start with 10,000 tournament chips
  • Blinds begin at 25/50
  • Players are allowed unlimited re-entry
  • Registration remains open until the start of Level 9 (4:30 p.m.)
  • All levels are 30 minutes long
  • There is a one-hour dinner break after Level 12 (6:30 p.m.)
  • This is one-day event

  • 10 a.m. - $135 Seniors event (age 50+) (non-ring)
  • 7 p.m. - $135 Nightly No-Limit Hold’em

Casino Championship:

Maxwell Young is in the lead in the Casino Championship. Young has reached three final tables to earn 82.5 points over the course of the series. There is only event left to enter that player can earn points in and that is Event #12, which begins Sunday at noon.
