First Circuit Stop of the 2016/2017 Season Concludes

Cherokee, NC (16 Aug 2016) The first stop of the 2016/17 Circuit season has come to a close. Please see below for individual links to various stories and results for each of the events at this stop.

Casino Champion Race

---------------

At the conclusion of this last event of the Series, Michael Warrington became the Harrah's Cherokee Casino Champion with 67.5 points after taking second in this event.

Kevin Davis was leading all the way until the end of this last event. Davis won Event #3, and then cashed 13th in Event #6 ($365 PLO), propelling him to the top of the leaderboard with 60 points. Marco Palacios actually tied Davis earning 60 points total when he finished 6th in the High Roller event, but Davis had more earnings for the stop, and that broke the tie.

Warrington was the player that accumulated the most overall points in the twelve gold ring tournaments at Harrah’s Cherokee earning the title of Casino Champion and he receives an automatic entry into the $1 million 2017 WSOP Global Casino Championship (valued at $10,000). The winner of the Harrah’s Cherokee Main Event Steven Snyder earned an automatic entry to the Global Casino Championship as well. All players who cash in ring events received points that applied to both the Casino Champion race and the season-long race to claim one of the 50 at-large Global Casino Championship bids awarded to the top point earners throughout the season. More information on the points system is available on WSOP.com.
