DAY 1 IS A WRAP IN S. INDIANA

Charles Dawson holds the chip lead in Event #1 with Day 2 scheduled to begin Friday at 2 p.m. 

Elizabeth, Ind. (Oct. 1, 2015) — Opening day of the Horseshoe Southern Indiana World Series of Poker Circuit series has come to an end with the final table being reached in Event #1 - $365 No-Limit Hold'em. The day began with 167 gold ring hopefuls in the first event of the series. Now just nine players remain, all of which have their sights set on the gold ring and first place prize of $13,527.

At the end of Day 1 Charles Dawson came away with the chip lead. This marks Dawson's 29th career WSOP Circuit cash. He is a one-time Circuit gold ring winner. Dawson won his gold ring last season at the Lumiere stop in St. Louis.

Circuit action resumes at the Horseshoe Southern Indiana casino Friday at noon with the first of two starting flights in Event #2 - $365 No-Limit Hold'em Re-Entry.
