FLIGHT A OF THE MAIN EVENT BEGINS FRIDAY

The first flight of the $1 million guaranteed Harrah's Cherokee Main Event gets underway Friday at 11 a.m.

Beside the Main Event beginning, two gold rings will be awarded Friday to the winners of events #8 and #9.

Cherokee, N.C. (December 4, 2015) -The Main Event has finally arrived in Cherokee after a successful week that saw over 2,700 entries in the re-entry and 941 in the monster stack event. Cody Pack and Andrew Robinson both won their fourth career gold rings and Cory Waaland finished one spot shy of earning his seventh. The excitement at Harrah's Cherokee continues Friday with the start of the $1 million guaranteed Main Event. Here is what you need to know.

-Flight A begins Friday at 11 a.m., Flight B Saturday at 11 a.m.
-Player start with 20,000 chips
-Blinds begin at 25/50
-Players are allowed one re-entry per starting flight (Two total entries/flight - Four overall)
-Day 1 concludes after Level 15 (~10:45 p.m.)
-There is a one hour dinner break after Level 9 (~5:30 p.m.)
-Registration remains open until the start of Level 13 (~8:45 p.m.)
-Levels 1-15 are 40 minutes long, all remaining levels are 60 minutes long
-Advancing players return for Day 2 Sunday at noon
-Players are allowed two entries per flight for a maximum of four entries
-Winner receives automatic seat in WSOP Global Casino Championship
-$1,000,000 guaranteed prizepool

There are two events returning for Day 2 on Friday. Event #8 - $580 No-Limit Hold'em returns with 13 players at 2 p.m. and Event #9 - $365 No-Limit Hold'em returns with 45 players at 3 p.m. Both events will play till conclusion.

  • 7 p.m. $135 Nightly No-Limit Hold'em ($10,000 Guarantee)
