HORSESHOE SOUTHERN INDIANA CIRCUIT KICKS OFF THURSDAY

Horseshoe Southern Indiana is located in Elizabeth, IN, just a few miles northwest of Louisville, KY.

This marks the ninth year that the Horseshoe plays host to the WSOP Circuit Events. To date, 122 WSOP Circuit Ring Events have been contested at Horseshoe Southern Indiana.

Twelve official Ring Events are scheduled for this year’s WSOP Circuit stop at Horseshoe Southern Indiana and include a $365 buy-in No-Limit Hold 'em event with Re-Entry and the $1,675 buy-in No-Limit Hold’em Main Event, which begins Friday, October 11th.

In addition to first place prize money and the coveted WSOP Circuit Main Event Gold Ring, the winner of the Main Event will receive an automatic entry to the season-culminating National Championship which takes place in May in Atlantic City.

Last year’s Main Event champion was Dan Heimiller, a poker professional from Las Vegas, NV. Heimiller beat 340 opponents to take home $117,300 in prize money.

A second National Championship entry will be awarded to the Horseshoe Southern Indiana Casino Champion, which is the designation given to the player who earns the most points through the 12 scheduled Ring Events at the Horseshoe. Click here for information about the 2013/2014 WSOP Circuit points system.

The reigning Horseshoe Southern Indiana Casino Champion, Jonathan Taylor, had an incredible series. Taylor had three cashes with two final tables, including a second place Main Event finish. Taylor went on to win his first WSOP Bracelet this summer in the $1,500 No-Limit Hold 'em event for over $450,000.

Other events scheduled for this year’s WSOP Circuit at the Horseshoe include the No-Limit Hold’em Seniors Event to be held Thursday, October 10th as well as nightly 7 PM No-Limit Hold’em tournaments.
