JESSE MARTIN WINS FIRST GOLD BRACELET IN PRESTIGIOUS $10K 2-7 EVENT
Jesse Martin outlasted a stacked final table and beat David "Bakes" Baker heads-up to win his first gold bracelet in the $10,000 2-7 No Limit Single Draw event at the 44th Annual World Series of Poker Tuesday night. In addition to his first gold bracelet, Martin earned $253,524.

Martin is a poker professional from Shrewsbury, Mass. He's had success at the WSOP, now laying claim to 31 cashes, but his most recent win marks his first six-figure score and catapults his career earnings to almost $700,000.

Martin peaked at the right time against some of the toughest competition and on the biggest stage the game has to offer. The tournament's runner-up, Baker, was making his fourth final table appearance of the 2013 WSOP -- more than any other player -- and looking for his second victory in the $10,000 2-7 event (he previously won 2010's tournament). He came up short of gold bracelet number three, but still had quite the showing, pocketing $156,674.

As always, the $10,000 2-7 No Limit Single Draw event drew a small field that was absolutely stacked with some of the best players in the game. This year’s field of 87 players generated an $817,800 prize pool and the top 14 players finished in the money.

After a long period of bubble play, Brian Hastings busted the bubble in 15th place -- a fact made all the more unfortunate because it was his 25th birthday. While Hastings just missed out on a payday, others like Dan O’Brien (14th), bracelet winners Larry Wright (13th) and Naoya Kihara (12th), Ashton Griffin (9th), and Paul Vople (8th) made the money, but missed the final table.

The final table was unsurprisingly stacked with millions of dollars in earnings as well as a combined 15 bracelets spread across four players.  Six-time bracelet winner Layne Flack came into the final table as the chip leader, but after a lengthy stint without an elimination, he exited in sixth place.

Baker wasn’t the only player with repeat success this summer at the final table. Both Konstantin Puchkov and 2009 WSOP Player of the Year Jeff Lisandro were at the final table as well, bringing the total number of players with multiple final tables this summer to 26.

Here are the final table results for the $10,000 No Limit Deuce-to-Seven Single Draw event:

1st: Jesse Martin - $253,524
2nd: David "Bakes" Baker - $156,674

5th: Jon Turner - $47,792
6th: Layne Flack - $35,549
