JINGJING LIU SETS THE PACE IN RIVER ROCK MAIN EVENT DAY 1B
Richmond, BC (November 4, 2012) — The second of three starting flights in the River Rock Casino Main Event concluded late Saturday night and a starting field of 352 is narrowed to 87.

Jingjing Liu leads all players with 266,000 in chips. She is trailed most closely by Cameron Winship (212,000), but the Day 1A chipleader, Norman Overdijk, holds 242,000. Greg Mueller finished Day 1B fourth in chips with 180,300.

Notable players to take their shot in Day 1B included two-time WSOP champions Mueller and Scott Clements, gold bracelet champion Gavin Smith, three-time Circuit champion Huy Nguyen and Matt Affleck.

Of the notable players, just Mueller remains.

Nguyen, Affleck and Clements hit the rail for the second day in a row. Fortunately, players in River Rock's championship event have the option to buy-in a third time and one can bet we haven't seen the last of this trio.

Day 1B saw an almost 20 percent increase in attendance over the 294-person field of Day 1A. With more than 640 entrants combined in the first two start days, River Rock has already assured itself it will be recognized as the second-largest WSOP Circuit Main Event to take place this season. Day 1C will begin Sunday at 12 p.m. PT and tournament staff has added extra tables to accommodate as many players as possible in what they believe will be the largest of the three start days.

Through two days, 146 players have advanced to a second day of play. That number is expected to increase significantly when Day 1C wraps Sunday night.

The starting fields will combine Monday, November 5 to play Day 2. When they take their seats, players will be playing 1,200/2,400 with a 400-chip ante.

The final table will be played November 7 and be broadcast on a 30-minute delay WITH hole cards.
