A NEW QUEEN IS CROWNED - DAWN WILNO WINS LADIES EVENT AT HARRAH

ATLANTIC CITY, NJ – Dawn Wilno, an executive director from Hamilton, NJ is the winner of the WSOP Circuit Ladies Event at Harrah’s Resort Atlantic City. For her win, Wilno pocketed $6,751 and the diamond-encrusted WSOP Circuit ladies pendant.

The one-day, no limit hold’em event drew 116 players for a total prize pool of $22,504.

Cynthia Alberts, reigning Ladies Event champion at Harrah’s Resort Atlantic City made a deep run in this year’s event in an attempt at a phenomenal repeat, but was eliminated just shy of the final two tables. Tax attorney Jamie Kerstetter made a consecutive final table appearance this year and looked to improve on her 2009 eighth place finish.

Wilno was the chip leader heading into the final table, a position she held for much of the night.

9th Place – Kim Findura was the ninth place finisher. Findura is a software engineer from Butler, NJ. Ninth place paid $580.

8th Place –  The eighth place finisher was Kim Edmonds. Edmonds, a training manager from nearby Toms River, NJ was paid $727 .

7th Place – Seventh place went to Sheila Fuller. Fuller is an office manager from Fairfax, VA. Her decision to play in today’s event resulted in a $928 payday.

6th Place – Jamie Kerstetter was able to improve on her previous year’s finish in this event with a sixth place finish. Having made her first major tournament finish in 2009, she has been on a tear, cashing in 17 major events in just a year and a half. The Central, NJ attorney took home a retainer fee of $1,207.

5th Place – Out in fifth place was Amanda Sengprasert. The Argentinean-born homemaker/poker player added $1,599 to her household budget.

4th Place – Aida Velin finished in fourth place. She is a professional poker player from WIckoff, NJ whose hobbies include poker, poker and more poker. The married mother of two earned $2,158.

3rd Place – Third place went to Gretchen Xayachack of Richmond, VA. The stay-at-home mom of three took home $2,971 for the day.

2nd Place – Simmie Wong was the runner up in this event, the 24-year-old from Brooklyn with a bachelors in Business Administration grossed $4,173 for her efforts.
