Poker Hall of Fame Inductee 2010
Born in New York City and a professional backgammon player in his youth, as an adult, Seidel would leave his career as a stock trader to play poker professionally.

In his very first major poker tournament, Seidel finished runner-up to Johnny Chan in the 1988 WSOP Main Event, with the final hand of the event forever immortalized in the hit poker movie Rounders.

Building off his early success at the WSOP, Seidel won his first bracelet in the $2,500 Limit Hold'em tournament at the 1992 WSOP.

Perhaps the most notable win of his WSOP career, Seidel won the $50,000 High Roller event for $1,704,400 in 2023, his lone seven-figure WSOP cash.

Winning 10 bracelets throughout his career, Seidel is tied for the third most all-time with Johnny Chan and Doyle Brunson, behind only Phil Ivey (11) and Phil Hellmuth (17).

With over $47 million in tournament winnings, Seidel is regarded as one of the best players to ever play the game.
