The Circuit returns to Grand Victoria Casino in Elgin, IL, featuring 16 ring events and over $1,5 Million in guarantees.
Las Vegas, Nevada (April 4, 2023) - The World Series of Poker Circuit is on the home stretch, with only four stops left of the 2022/23 season. But before returning home to Las Vegas for the 54th Annual WSOP, the Circuit is heading to Grand Victoria Casino for a twelve-day series featuring 16 ring events and $1,5 Million in guarantees.
The beautifully located riverboat casino in Elgin, IL, hosted its first-ever Circuit in November 2022. The series turned out to be a massive success, with record-breaking fields generating $4,433,931 in total prize money, and similar fields are to be expected when the Circuit returns on Thursday, featuring 16 ring events between April 6 - 17.
The series kicks off with the $400 No-Limit Hold'em 30K Opener, a one-day event boosted with a $50,000 guarantee. Later in the afternoon, the $600 No-Limit Hold'em will get underway, with the first of four Day 1 flights. The same event ran in November and attracted 1,815 players for a total prize pool of $748,875, indicating that the $300,000 guarantee will get smashed next week.
The series also features two Seniors Events for players 50 years or older (April 9 & April 16) and one Ladies' Event (April 14).
The marquee tournament of the series, the $1,700 No-Limit Hold'em Main Event, will get underway Thursday, April 13. The Main Event has $750,000 in guaranteed prize money, and players can choose between three starting flights. Flight A will have cards in the air Thursday, November 13 at 11:00 AM, and Flight B and Flight C will follow the next two days at the same starting time.
The last Main Event at Grand Victoria attracted no less than 1,070 players, generating a total prize pool of $1,621,050. Ohio's Frank Lagodich secured the first-place prize of $275,896 and will sit as the reigning champ until this year's Main Event concludes Monday, April 17.
Any official gold ring winners from this WSOP Circuit stop will qualify for the invitation-only “Tournament of Champions." The $1 million freeroll event will be held during the 2023 World Series of Poker tournament in Las Vegas. 2023 online and live bracelet winners will also be eligible to compete in the new signature event.
