Quan Tran Takes Down Choctaw Main Event for First Circuit Ring and $336,412


Quan Tran
 is the latest Main Event champion of the 2021/2022 World Series of Poker Circuit season after he topped a massive field of 1,411 entries to walk away with the Choctaw Durant $1,700 Main Event title, a $336,412 top prize, and a seat into the 2022 Tournament of Champions.

 

Tran came into the final day second in chips and eliminated four players to start off the day to take the chip lead into the final table where he eliminated three of eight opponents. The final table dominance secured Tran's first gold ring, which was a very special moment for him, and taking down over $336,000 to go along with it was rewarding as well...

During the first hands of heads-up, Raul Garza began with the button and the small blind. He limped in. Quan Tran, in the big blind, raised to 1,300,000. Garza called.

All three players paid the big blind to see the flop, which came    .

Quan Tran, from the big blind, bet 600,000. Raul Garza folded. Jessica Vierling ripped in her final 3,100,000 and Tran called.

Hayden Fortini raised to 550,000 from the cutoff only to have Quan Tran three-bet to 1,500,000 from the button. 

Action folded back around to Fortini who four-bet jammed for 11,750,000 and Tran called holding 300,000 more in chips.

Both players held the same hand and were expecting a chop until the     flop gave Tran the diamond flush draw. 

The sweat didn't last long as the dealer dropped the   on the turn, completing Tran's flush and left Fortini drawing dead to the   river.

 Nate Steuer Eliminated in 5th Place 

Nate Steuer raised all in for 1,975,000 from the cutoff and Raul Garza isolated with a 4 million three-bet from the button.

Steuer was racing for his tournament life and fell behind after the     flop paired Garza's king. 

The   turn wasn't the worst card for Steuer as it gave him more outs with an open-ended straight draw, but the   paired the board on the river and ended his tournament in fifth place for $93,926.

Jessica Vierling raised to 500,000 from the hijack. Nate Steuer called in the small blind. Raul Garza three-bet to 4,450,000 from the big blind. The re-raise left Garza with just 500,000 behind.

Vierling folded. Steuer contemplated for a bit, then announced "all-in," having Garza covered.

Garza called and turned up    to Steuer's dismay. Steuer threw down his   .

The   paired the board on the turn bringing possible chop outs but the   completed the board on the river and secured hsi double-up.

There was heads-up action between Jessica Vierling from the small blind and Hayden Fortini from the big blind with a      board showing.

With over 2.1 million already in the middle, Vierling check-raised to 3.3 million after Fortini fired out 1.4 million. Action was back on Fortini who three-bet jammed for 5,610,000 and Vierling called.

Fortini was way ahead after flopping a set of threes as Vierling needed a six to score the elimination.

Rick Alvarado raised to 350,000 from middle position and Jessica Vierling three-bet to 740,000 from the button. 

Action folded back to Alvarado who four-bet jammed for roughly 4 million and Vierling snap called.

Alvarado was way behind after jamming into Vierling's ace and the     flop didn't change a thing.
