JASON GOOCH WINS FIRST BRACELET AT SECOND ONLINE BRACELET EVENT FINAL TABLE

June 24, 2019 (Las Vegas) - Jason “TheBigGift” Gooch has won the $1,000 Double Stack No-Limit Hold’em Online Bracelet Event. He wins $241,492 after topping a field of 922 players. This is his first WSOP bracelet.

Gooch beat Brian “Pure__Reason” Wood heads up to claim the title.

The final table started a little after 1 a.m. with Gooch holding the chip lead. This was Gooch’s second Online bracelet event final table of the summer. He finished runner-up in Event #24: $600 Pot-Limit Omaha Online bracelet event.

Four-time WSOP bracelet winner Max “MaxSparrow” Pescatori was the first player to be eliminated from the final table. He got all in in a three-way pot and was chopped up by Anthony “Scrotile” Augstino and Dario “Sirio87” Sammartino. He finished in ninth place and took home $17,348.99. This was Pescatori’s 76th WSOP cash and 17th final table. Pescatori now has $2,561,572 in WSOP career tournament earnings. This was his third cash of the summer so far.

Then Justin “KingFortune” Liberto was next to hit the rail. He was seeking his second WSOP bracelet on just his 40th cash. He was eliminated in eighth place and won $22,541. This was only his fifth WSOP final table. He has two top-five finishes in the 2013 and the 2018 edition of the Millionaire Maker. He also had an online final table during last summer’s WSOP. He won the $3,000 6-Max in 2015 for $640,711 and today brought his WSOP career tournament earnings to $1,653,320.

Gianluca “InMyHouse” Speranza found his way to the virtual rail in seventh place. He won $29,885.86 on his way to his best-ever finish at the WSOP in Las Vegas. He has two runner-up finishes at WSOP Europe and 21 WSOP cashes. He has more than $1-million in career tournament winnings at the WSOP and just added a third final table to his WSOP resume.

Ran “Margarete” Koller found his best-ever WSOP finish at this final table, finishing in sixth place for $40,143. He got pocket queens in against Augistino, but lost a flop and hit the rail. He now has $48,776 in WSOP career earnings on just six cashes.

Timothy “Stucksoomuch” Wong fell in fifth place. He earned his first WSOP cash. With a $54,453 payday. He shoved all in with king-high against the chipleader Augustino’s big blind. Augustino called with ace-high and held to knock out Wong in fifth place.

Four-handed, Augustino held the chip lead after knocking out Wong and another big pot against Sammartino. Then, Gooch knocked out Sammartino in fourth place. Sammartino won $75,094.55 adding to his over $3-million in WSOP tournament winnings. He has 36 cashes at the WSOP and has made eight final tables. This was Sammartino’s second final table this summer. He finished third in the $10,000 HORSE.

During three-handed play Gooch took the lead, though the three remaining players were fairly close. Gooch extended his lead, putting pressure on Augustino and separating himself from the remaining players. Gooch made a river shove against Augustino, to put Augustino in third position.

The next hand, Augustino shoved and Wood shoved over the top. Gooch folded and the players would chop with the same hand.

Then, Wood made a full house against Gooch to take the lead three-handed. Gooch fell to second, with Augustino still the short stack.

Gooch bridged the gap a little after he shoved on a big open from Wood and Wood folded. Wood eventually knocked out Augustino with king-high against Augustino’s queen-high.

This was Augustino’s best WSOP finish. His previous best was a 38th place finish in the 2014 $1,500 No-Limit Hold’em Shootout. Now, he reached third place and took home $104,980.41 at his first WSOP final table and brought his total WSOP tournament winnings to $154,548.

Wood held the lead going into heads up play against Gooch.

Gooch won a big pot to bring the stacks a little closer to even, but Wood quickly regained the lead as the second hour of the final table ticked away. Gooch won five hands in a row, including two 4-million chip pots to take a slight lead right before a break. The players both sat at roughly 20-million a piece with the big blind at 600,000 when play resumed.

Gooch went on to claim the bracelet and the $241,492 first prize after just under 12 hours of play. This brings Gooch’s all-time WSOP tournament winnings to $678,184.
