STEVEN MOORE LEADS AFTER DAY 1 IN NEW ORLEANS
The starting days have concluded for the World Series of Poker Circuit Main Event at Harrah’s New Orleans.

Friday’s opening flight drew 266 entries, and by the time registration closed on Saturday evening, that number had swollen to 554 in total. At $1,675 per entry, the field has generated a prizepool worth $831,000 to be shared by the final 63 players. The winner’s portion includes $174,514 in cash to go along with the WSOP Circuit Main Event ring and a precious seat in the WSOP National Championship to be held in late July at Harrah's Cherokee.

Kentucky’s Dustin Denzik emerged from the Day 1A flight with the biggest stack of 305,000 chips, leading the 52 end-of-day survivors and setting a strong pace for the field. Others who were lucky enough to bag up and earn a day off in the Crescent City included Viet Vo (223,500), Austin Buchanan (211,000), Ray Henson (159,000), Loni Harwood (119,000), Tom Franklin (99,000), and John Dolan (69,000).

The chipleader honors for Day 1B went to Steven Moore. It was fairly smooth sailing for the Oregon native, his stack steadily increasing as the levels ticked off the clock. By the time the day was done, he had amassed 313,000 chips, good enough to take the overall lead heading into playdown day. Those who prospered similarly were Isua Mbang (284,500), Thomas Johnson (224,000), Caufman Talley (193,000), Chris Conrad (189,500), Ashly Butler (171,500), and Brandon Adams (132,000), the latter only joining the field at the tail end of the registration period.

With the addition of another 58 survivors from Day 1B, a total of 110 players have advanced to the Sunday session. The combined Day 2 begins at 12:00 PM CT, and live updates will be available here on WSOP.com.
