TWO RINGS WON AT THE BIKE ON WEDNESDAY

Two more rings were awarded on Wednesday and there are only six left to hand out before the WSOP Circuit at the Bicycle Casino comes to an end.

Nadim Shabou Wins $580 No Limit Hold’em

Nadim Shabou (pictured) came back on Wednesday afternoon to finish a heads-up battle with Wendy Freedman. Shabou found a double up on the first hand of play to take the lead and eventually finish off Freedman to take home his first ring and $17,255 in the $580 No Limit Hold’em.

Wendy Freedman Officially Takes the Lead in the Casino Championship

After taking her second runner-up finish of the series in the $580 No Limit Hold’em, Wendy Freedman has officially taken over the top spot of the Casino Championship leaderboard with 75 points. Freedman has two second place finishes this series for 37.5 points each, which leap frogs her over the previous leader Alan Myerson.

Myerson is in second place with 60 points after defeating Freedman heads-up in the $365 Bounty No Limit Hold’em and then finishing 13th in the $365 No Limit Hold’em Re-Entry event.

After those two there is a five-way tie for third with the other winners of events. Dave Banerjee, Dale Beaudoin, Nadim Shabou, Phillip Penn and Stuart Pfeifer are all tied for third with 50 points after taking home rings at the Bike.

Alex Masek On The Brink of Record-Extending Ninth Ring

A $365 No Limit Hold’em kicked off at noon on Wednesday afternoon at noon and 143 players took their shot at a Circuit title. By the end of the night, there were only seven players remaining and Erick Lee is leading the way with 524,000 in chips.

Lee is leading, but it’s Alex Masek who is making waves and is on the verge of winning his record extending ninth ring and extend his lead on the all-time ring list over Ari Engel and Chris Reslock. Masek is currently sixth in chips with 110,000.

The final seven players will be back on Thursday afternoon at 1 p.m. to play down to a winner. The chip counts for the final day can be found here.

Phillip Penn Takes Down Omaha 8 or Better Ring

The only non-hold’em event on the schedule was won by Phillip Penn. Penn bested a field of 124 to take home $10,400 along with his first ring in the $365 Omaha 8 or Better event.

Penn, primarily a mixed games player, came back on Wednesday afternoon third in chips out of the final 22, but came to the final table neck and neck for the chip lead. Penn put on a dominating performance at the final table, culminating in defeating Robert Durant heads-up in under 20 minutes.

Two More Ring Events Start on Thursday

The action continues to pick up in Los Angeles as the main event and the high roller are right around the corner. On Thursday, two more ring events kick off with the $1,125 No Limit Hold’em at noon and the $365 Turbo No Limit Hold’em starts at 3 p.m.

The $1,125 No Limit Hold’em is a two-day event, while the $365 Turbo No Limit Hold’em is going to play down to a winner.
