West Palm Beach, FL (July 28, 2014) — Fresh off the heels of an ultra successful World Series of Poker, the 11th season of the Circuit kicks off Wednesday at the Palm Beach Kennel Club in West Palm Beach, FL. A perennial attendance powerhouse, the Kennel Club hosts the first of its two stops during the season beginning this Wednesday and running through Monday, August 11.

Action opens with a five-starting-flight, $500,000-guarantee re-entry event that has become a staple on the Palm Beach schedule. In each of the three previous similar-structured events, the Kennel Club has seen fields of more than 2,500 entries contend for a six-figure first prize.

Other notable events on this year’s schedule include Event 6, a $365 six-handed tournament, Event 9, a $1,125 tournament and the Main Event, the $1,675 finale. The first of two starting flights in the championship tournament begins Friday, August 8. Those players eliminated in the opening session may re-enter in Flight B which begins the following day. Last year’s Main Event drew a stout field of 658 entries amassing a prize pool just shy of $1 million. Notables such as two-time bracelet winner Josh Arieh, Aaron Massey and Mukul Pahuja made a run at Circuit gold, but ultimately succumbed to first-time ring winner Ruslan Dykshteyn who pocketed $202,335.

Like previous years, the 2014-2015 Circuit season boasts more than 20 stops set to take place across the country between now and May of next year. Each host property is slated to award 12 gold rings and two seats to the season-ending National Championship. Exact dates and location for the National Championship are to be announced at a later time.

As mentioned previously, this week’s opening stop is just the first of two series to be held at the Kennel Club. The other is slated for February of 2015. Also hosting two series this year is one of the Circuit’s newest properties, Harrah’s Cherokee. The venue, located outside of Atlanta, hosts stops in November of this year and in April of next.
