MARTIN JACOBSON LEADS FINAL 26 IN ONE DROP HIGH ROLLER
The opening day of action in the $111,111 One Drop High Roller Event was one of celebration. Players were thrilled to play in this highly competitive event complete with a charitable component. Day 2, things got decidedly more serious as the starting Day 2 field of 108 dwindled to just 26 contenders vying for the top payday of over $4.8 million.

When the day began, Brandon Steven and Tobias Reinkemeier were at the top of the counts. Steven managed to maintain his standing throughout the day, growing his stack from 1.4 million all the way up to 3,140,000. That sum of chips is good enough to put him third in the counts behind Martin Jacobson and Connor Drinan.

Reinkemeier, on the other hand, did not fare as well. He hit the rail late in the day after a massive pot against William Perkins. The two got it all-in with Reinkemeier holding an overpair of aces to Perkins’ set of queens, failed to improve, and the amateur jubilantly celebrated as the pot rocketed him to the top of the counts. Perkins would end the day in the top ten.

Reinkemeier was one of a long list of Day 2 casualties that included Daniel Negrenau, who spent most of his day holding down the livestreaming table. Others who failed to survive the day included WSOP.com winner Owais Ahmed, Jason Mercier, Jason Somerville, Vivek Rajkumar, Gus Hansen, Ben Lamb, Johnny Chan, John Juanda, Vanessa Selbst, David Einhorn, and Bobby Baldwin.

Jacobson of Sweden is the man to beat heading into Day 3, as he bagged up 3,255,000 chips, but Drinan is hot on his heels with 3,250,000. One should not count out last year’s winner, Antonio Esfandiari, either. He finished the day fifth in chips and looks to be in good shape to post another deep run in a One Drop event.

Other players we’ll see in action tomorrow are Olivier Busquet, Haralabos Voulgaris, Nick Schulman, Chris Klodnicki, Dan Shak, Daniel Alaei, Yevegniy Timoshenko, October Niner Jeremy Ausmus, and Poker Hall of Famer Mike Sexton.

Tomorrow, most of these 26 players will get a return on their investment. The top 24 finishers will take home at least $173,723. For two players, the third day will end with no payday to show for it, as players will return to money bubble action, just shy of a payout.

You can watch all of the money bubble action, as we will be livestreaming the entirety of Day 3 action with commentary from David Tuchman and a panel of guests. The stream will begin without hole cards and on a five-minute delay at 1pm PT on Friday. The action will switch to hole cards and a 30-minute delay once we get to a final table.

Thanks to the exceptional turnout for this event, this tournament will almost certainly extend into a fourth day of play, which will also be livestreamed should action carry over into Saturday.
