Steve Foutty wins a gold ring at Harveys Lake Tahoe for the second consecutive year.

Stateline, Nev. (November 2, 2015) - Steve Foutty does it again. His superb run at Harveys Lake Tahoe continues with another WSOP Circuit gold ring victory. This is his second career gold ring at Harveys Lake Tahoe and third overall. All three rings have come in the past year. He won his first career gold ring last year at this stop one year ago tomorrow. This ring did not come as easily though. He had to beat Julian Galvan in a heads up battle that lasted three and a half hours long.

"We got heads up and it was just a battle. It's not very often when you come into a ring event and get heads up with a very good player. He's super good, very solid," said Foutty about Galvan.

This was Foutty's second final table of series. Through the first four events he is the only player to reach two final tables. He finished in 8th place in the opening event of the series.

With this victory, Foutty overtakes Event #2 winner, Shawn Van Asdale, as the leader in the Casino Championship standings. Foutty won the Casino Championship last year at Harveys Lake Tahoe with three cashes, two final tables and a gold ring victory. Astonishingly, Foutty could outdo last year's performance with more than half of the events still remaining in this year's series. Foutty contributes luck and persistence to his strong performance on the WSOP Circuit in the past year.

Foutty came into Day 2 fifth out of nine in chips. He was staring up at Galvan, who entered the day as the chip leader. Play had a consistent pace throughout the final table with regular eliminations. However, once Tom Ottman was eliminated in third place that changed. Foutty and Galvan would trade punches for three and a half hours before Foutty was able to win a flip for all of the chips.

Foutty becomes the 52nd player in WSOP Circuit history to earn three career gold rings. He now has 21 WSOP related cashes and more than $150,000 in tournament earnings. This is also the third consecutive year that Foutty has reached a Harveys Lake Tahoe final table.

--------

Event #4 was the fourth of 12 gold ring events on the WSOP Circuit schedule at Harveys Lake Tahoe. The $365 No-Limit Hold’em tournament attracted 164 players generating a $49,200 prize pool. The top 12 players were paid.

Day 1 began Sunday at noon and lasted 18 levels. Day 2 began Monday at 2 p.m. with nine players remaining. The tournament concluded at about 9:15 p.m. midway through Level 27.

Final table results:

1st: Steve Foutty - $13,284 + Circuit gold ring
2nd: Julian Galvan - $8,210
3rd: Tom Ottman - $5,909
4th: Brian Vu - $4,331
