Armbrust Crushes Miadzel’s Queens

Stanislaw Miadzel opened the action with a raise to 35,000, and Christian Schneider called from the cutoff. But John Armbrust wasn't backing down—he made a three-bet to 141,000. Miadzel decided to shove all in, and Schneider folded while Armbrust snap-called.

Peluso Puts Jobin to the Test

Fabio Peluso started the action with a raise to 25,000 from under the gun, and Yannick Jobin called from the button.

The     flop and the   turn didn't spark any bets, as both players checked. But when the   landed on the river, things took a turn.

Peluso checked to Jobin, who bet 65,000. In response, Peluso shoved all-in for 170,000. After thinking it over, Jobin called. Peluso flipped over    for aces and eights, while Jobin showed    for kings and eights. Peluso scooped the sizable pot, leaving Jobin on the wrong side of the showdown.

Pflock's Aces Hold for a Crucial Double-Up

Rachid El Yaacoubi kicked off the action with an under-the-gun raise to 24,000, and Fabio Peluso in the cutoff responded with a three-bet to 75,000. Things heated up when Pascal Pflock, sitting on the button, shoved all in. El Yaacoubi folded, leaving Peluso to ask for a count, which came to 150,000. After some thought, Peluso made the call.

Bayout Forces Ahuja to Fold

With about 66,000 already in the pot and the flop reading    , Axel Bayout checked from early position, letting Ankit Ahuja take the lead with a bet of 35,000. Bayout wasn't backing down, though, and responded with a raise to 80,000. After some thought, Ahuja called.

The   appeared on the turn, and this time Bayout fired off a bet of 90,000, which Ahuja called.

When the   hit the river, Bayout made a bold move, shoving nearly his entire stack—316,000—into the middle, keeping just 35,000 behind. Ahuja went deep into the tank, weighing his options for a while, but eventually decided to let it go. Bayout raked in the hefty pot, further extending his stack and keeping his tournament hopes alive.

Zhao Chipping Up

Cheng Zhao called in the small blind. Amiel Gamliel three-bet to 38,000. Zhao called.

Zhao check-called a bet of 45,000 on the     flop and check-called again on the   turn. On this street Gamliel sized up to 83,000.

The   river was checked down and Zhao tabled    for two pair.

A couple hands later he raised a 19,000 chip open from Umut Yukselir in the hijack to 75,000. Yukselir checked the     flop to Zhao who bet 150,000. This garnered a snap call from his opponent and he scooped a second pot in quick succession.
