In three-handed action, Christopher Frank opened to 700 from the button. Evgenii Katymaev then three-bet to 2,800 from the small blind. Frank four-bet to 8,500 and Katymaev called.

The flop came     and Frank continued for 3,500. Katymaev called.

On the   turn, both players were content to tap the table. The duo would do the same on the   river as well.

Katymaev turned over    but it wasn't any good as Frank showed    for the early haul.

The World Series of Poker Europe has been running for more than two weeks, and the marquee event begins today at King's Resort in Rozvadov, Czech Republic.

Welcome to Day 1a of the €10,350 WSOP Europe Main Event with €5,000,000 guaranteed in the prize pool. This is a five-day event with two starting flights and plenty of opportunities to shine on Europe's biggest stage. 

The 2021 edition of the WSOP Europe Main Event set a brand new record with 688 entries making up a prize pool of €6,536,000 paying out 104 spots and awarding seven figures to the winner for €1,276,712 and a gold bracelet. 

The defending champion is Josef Gulas Jr from Most, Czech Republic. The WSOP bracelet and Circuit champion defeated Johan 'YohViral' Guilbert heads-up to win his first gold bracelet in December of 2021. The next year Gulas followed that up with a win on the Circuit in the Monster Stack. 

There are two starting flights in the Main Event and there is one single re-entry per player. 

Here are the pertinent details for this event:

  • 100,000 starting stack
  • 90-minute levels
  • Late registration closes before the start of Level 13 ~10:20 p.m. on Day 2
  • All start times in the Main Event will be at 12:00 p.m.
  • 90-minute dinner breaks daily ~7:00 p.m.
  • 15-minute breaks after each level 
  • Day 1a is on Friday, November 11th, play 7 levels
  • Day 1b is on Saturday, November 12th, play 7 levels
  • Day 2 is on Sunday, November 13th, play 7 levels
  • Day 3 is on Monday, November 14th (Streamed), play 7 levels
  • Day 4 is on Tuesday, November 15th (Streamed), play down to six players
  • Final Day (5) is on Wednesday, November 16th (Streamed), play down to a winner
