Event #5: No Limit Hold'em Colossus

After more than fourteen hours on Day 2 of Event #5: €550 COLOSSUS has come to an end with ten players making it through to the final day on Monday, November 29. The four starting flights had 2,478 entires which created a prize pool of €1,177,050 for the eventual winner to walk away with €147,775, the WSOP gold bracelet, and a ticket for the WSOPE Main Event.

Coming back with the chip lead is Matteo Calzoni with 14,375,000 in chips. He is joined by Riadh Farhat (12,200,000) and Andrea Ricci (9,075,000) in the top three. They have Zlatin Penev, Fotios Ntamaris, Edmond Jahjaga, Roman Krahula, Gabriele Re, Merijn van Rooij, and Aureio Reggi with them on the final table.

COLOSSUS Final Day Chip Counts

There were 308 survivors who had all secured at least €1,120 each but were all looking to climb that pay ladder. Many familiar names like Antonello Ferraiuoli, Pete Chen, [b[PLAYER="jerry-odeen"]Jerry Odeen[/PLAYER][/b], and many more failed to get to the later part of the day.

Calzoni was on the road to the top when he first knocked out Floor ten Zijthof and then Martin Kabrhel in 22nd place to give him over 11 million. The eliminations didn't go any slower and when they still had to play four more hands, Nicolae Modrea busted in the final one to the queens of Farhat.

When play resumes at 10 a.m. CET here at the King's Resort, the unofficial final table will be played at the feature table. The level duration will remain 40 minutes long with a break after every three levels. The first level of the day will feature a small blind of 150,000, a big blind of 300,000, and a big blind ante of 300,000.

Edmond Jahjaga opened to 500,000 from under the gun and Aurelio Reggi pushed all in for 820,000 in the big blind. Jahjaga actually gave it some thought before making the call.

The flop came     and both players picked up a flush draw. The   on the turn gave Reggi the nut flush and he stayed alive, albeit still under 10 big blinds.

Riadh Farhat raised it up on the button and Roman Krahula announced all in from the big blind. Farhat quickly called off his stack of 4,380,000 and the cards were face up.

Roman Krahula opened to 400,000 in the hijack and was called by Gabriele Re in the cutoff. They went heads-up to a flop of     and Krahula led out with a bet of 600,000. Re called and the   landed on the turn.

Both players checked and the   hit the river. Kahula checked again and Re announced a bet of 1,200,000. Krahula instantly called and Re showed   . Kahula turned over    for a baby full house but it was good enough to win the pot.

Matteo Calzoni opened to 325,000 on the button and Merijn van Rooij shoved all in for 2,145,000 in the big blind. Calzoni asked for a count and then called to Van Rooij at risk.
