The 2019 WSOP Europe Event #3: €1,350 Mini Main Event No-Limit Hold'em Crushes the Guarantee
The third gold bracelet event of the 2019 World Series of Poker Europe has finished all three days and a total field of 766 entries emerged in Event #3: €1,350 Mini Main Event No-Limit Hold'em to ensure that the guaranteed prize pool of €551,750 was easily surpassed. Thanks to 378 entries on Day 1c, a prize pool of €873,240 was created and 76 players remain in contention, to bring the total number of players coming back for Day 2 to 153 hopefuls.
Leading the survivors in the final flight is Germany's Ismail Kalkan with1,239,000 and whose best score in a WSOP event so far is sixth place last summer in the $500 WSOP.com ONLINE No-Limit Hold'em Turbo Deepstack. He is followed by Leonid Yanovski (1,121,000) and Pawel Zawadowicz who completes the podium (1,077,000).
The overall chipleader advancing to Day 2 remains Pulkit Goyal, representing India, with an impressive stack of 1,518,000 amassed on Day 1b, and Aleksandr Merzhvinskii in the second position with 1,255,000 in chips bagged on Day 1a.
Many bracelet winners used their final opportunity to book a seat for Day 2 and add more gold to their collection including Barak Wisbrod (905,00), Mykhailo Gutyi (844,000), Asi Moshe (772,000), six-time bracelet winner Jeff Lisandro (640,000), Ismael Bojang (511,000), Phillip Hui (505,000), Artur Rudziankov (438,000), David "ODB" Baker (240,000), Sebastian Langrock (215,000) and Erik Cajelais (159,000) who will try to quickly double his 15 big blinds tomorrow.
Many other notables who took a shot at this flight but were not fortunate enough to survive to the day include the recent winner of Event #2: €550 Pot-Limit Omaha Dash Dudley, four-time bracelet winner Eli Elezra, Sam Grafton, Benny Glaser, Ivo Donev and Christopher Back to name just a few.
After the final break of the night, the eliminations speed up and 15 players quickly headed to rail to reduce the field to just 76 that advanced. American player Lawrence Whyte was one of the last players to bust, being eliminated by Kalkan who found a set of sixes on the flop while Whyte held pocket fives. He was followed around 20 minutes later by Birger Ohl who felted in 77th place against Kristof Lenart, signifying the end of the day for the remaining players.
Day 2 will kick off on Saturday, October 19th, at 1 p.m. local time with 11 minutes and 16 seconds left in level 16 at blinds of 5,000/10,000 with a 5,000 big blind ante.
