Mike Leah opens to 20,000 from the button, and Richard Gryko calls in the big blind. The     flop triggers a check from Gryko, a bet worth 20,000 by Leah, and a call. On the   turn, the action repeats itself for 50,000, and the   then completes the board on the river.

Gryko checks, and Leah bets 135,000 to enforce a fold.

In a battle of the blinds, Mike Leah and Mikkel Plum invest 30,000 chips apiece to see a     flop. Leah bets 25,000, and Plum folds.

The waitress brings Plum the soft drink he ordered after the hand is over, and Plum is not charged anything.

"Oh, it is for free?" he seems surprised. "Can I have another one?" he grins.

Richard Gryko opens to 22,000 from the button and Mikkel Plum calls in the big blind. Both players check the     flop and Plum bets the   turn for 27,000. Gryko calls and Plum also bets the   river. Gryko quickly calls and then mucks when Plum shows the      for a straight.

On the second hand of the level, Mike Leah opens to 20,000 under the gun, and Roberto Romanello calls from the big blind to see a heads-up flop of    . Romanello checks, and Leah bets 28,000. Romanello check-raises to 104,000, and Leah leans over to glance at his opponent's chips before raising the pot. Romanello get his stack in, and he is the player at risk with a pot of more than 1.1 million up for grabs.

Leah:      for a set of jacks
Romanello:      for a pair of nines, a flush draw and open-ended straight draw

The   turn does not lock up the hand for Leah yet, as he so painfully experienced yesterday in a big pot against Barny Boatman's one-outer. Romanello has two outs in the   and  , but the blank   fills out the board on the river.

Leah wins the huge pot, sending Romanello to the rail in fourth place.

In the first hand back from the break, Roberto Romanello opens to 26,000 and gets called by Richard Gryko in the big blind.

Both players check the    , flop and the   turn draws another Gryko check. Romanello bets 28,000, and Gryko calls. On the   river, Gryko bets 64,000 and Romanello thinks out loud.

"King ten of clubs? Anything but the jack," he hopes, before making the call.

During the break, Mike Leah ran up to the top floor in order to try and build up his chips in the Monster Stack event. About eight minutes later he was already back down at the feature table and laughed. "I run so bad, lost a flip." He got the last 25,000 in with the    against    and his opponent hit a set. But he is alive and doing well here at the PLO final table.

There is one more hand to be played after the elimination of Benjamin Pollak and it turns into a big one. Lawrence Lazar raises to 23,000 with around 200,000 behind, and Mike Leah asks his opponent, "Can I see?" referring to the stack size of his opponent. Lazar moves his hands to the side, and Leah raises the pot to 78,000. Lazar moves all in and Leah calls.

The     flop improves Leah to a pair of jacks with ace kicker, but Lazar has many outs to win the hand. The board completes with the   turn and   river to send Lazar to the rail.

Benjamin Pollak raises the pot to 28,000 from early position, leaving himself with little behind. Mike Leah is in the big blind, and he asks for Pollak's stack size before calling.

Leah bets 33,000 on the    , and Pollak has exactly as many chips remaining. He calls with a big sigh.

Leah:      for a set of sixes

"You liked the flop?" Pollak asks and Leah just nods. The   on the turn leaves Pollak with four outs, two queens and two sevens. However it is not meant to be, as Leah improves to quads on the   river.

Richard Gryko opens to 24,000 in the small blind and Lawrence Lazar calls from one seat over. On the     flop, Gryko continues for 21,000 and enforces a fold from Lazar.

Benjamin Pollak chats with his opponents and smiles: "Are you guys enjoying the final table?" despite having a short stack.

After losing a limped pot with pocket aces early on, Benjamin Pollak hasn't won any hands and just now gets involved in a three-way pot to the     flop. Mikkel Plum in the small blind bets 35,000 and Pollak folds in the big blind. Lawrence Lazar also folds in the hijack.

Mikkel Plum limps in, Max Pescatori raises the pot, and Plum re-pots to put Pescatori at risk for 71,000.

The     flop is safe for the "Italian Pirate," and he asks for a three. The   shows up right away on the turn and now Pescatori wants to see a four, which would make him a winning straight. However, the dealer turns over the   on the river and that gives Plum trip fives andsend Pescatori to the rail.

Max Pescatori limps from the small blind and Richard Gryko checks in the big blind. On the     flop, Pescatori checks and Gryko bets 10,000. Pescatori calls and they check the   on the turn. There is no betting action on the   river, and the cards are turned over.

The next hand, Pescatori limps the button and Gryko raises to 32,000 from the small blind. Pescatori calls and then faces the 75,000 bet of Gryko on the     flop. The "Italian Pirate" folds and is left very short.

Roberto Romanello opens to 16,000 and gets called by Max Pescatori in the big blind. On the [Ks,4c.3h] flop, Pescatori checks and Romanello bets 19,000. Pescatori calls. On the   turn, Pescatori asks for the pot size (74,000) and then bets 35,000. Romanello announces a pot-sized raise and that puts Pescatori all in. The "Italian Pirate" folds.

Richard Gryko opens from early position to 15,000 and Ismael Bojang calls from one seat over. So do Mikkel Plum in the small blind and Benjamin Pollak in the big blind. The     flop gets checked to Gryko and he bets 32,000. Bojang is the only caller. On the   turn, Gryko bets 72,000. Bojang calls and the   river completes the board. Gryko announces "all in" for a pot-sized bet of 264,000 and Bojang has less than that. Bojang calls.

Bojang is eliminated in 8th place and can now head straight to Day 2 of the Monster Stack where he bagged up chips last night.
