Momentum shift?
Friday, October 25, 2013 10:59 PM Local Time
With half an hour to go on Day 4 until about ten minutes into the heads up battle, everything had gone Adrian Mateos’ way.
He had the cards to back him up when he needed/wanted to showdown but he also played extremely well without the cards too. Let’s not forget, this kid is 19 years old and had a lot of success in the year or so he’s been on the live circuit.
Then, all of a sudden, there’s a momentum shift. His wily opponent, Fabrice Soulier, started hitting cards. More importantly though, he was hitting cards when his opponent was also hitting cards, just slightly worse cards.
For the first time in a while, Mateos has to deal with a momentum shift against him at the most important time in his fresh, burgeoning career.
How he reacts could have big implications on his future in this game.
Whichever way this battle goes, it promises to be enthralling viewing.
