And right at the death, Dominik Nitsche has taken the chip lead with 504,800 – the only player to reach the half-million mark.
The German had been among the leading pack throughout the day which was dominated by Ludovic Lacay, the chip leader from the start. It had looked as though the Frenchman was going to finish as he started, but a couple of lost pots to Ariel Celestino pulled him back.
Elsewhere, two of the so-called “Big Three” of poker, Phil Hellmuth and Phil Ivey were both knocked out and will be expected to take part in tomorrow's €25,000 High Roller event.
The third member of the triumvirate, Daniel Negreanu, is safely through with 115,100 and still looking to catch Matthew Ashton in the Player of the Year race.
Tomorrow will see the tournament restart at noon as the players attempt to play down to the final 16 players. We'll see you there!

While the rest of the tables in the tournament started bagging up their chips, Dominik Nitsche and Eric Sfez were involved in one of the biggest hands of the day and the hand that would see Nitsche likely move into the overnight chip lead.
We arrived at the action with a board on the felt and with around 100,000 already in the pot. Nitsche had checked and Sfez bet 61,200. Nitsche went deep into the tank and was asking Sfez questions such as, “If I fold will you show.”
Eventually Nitsche decided to make the call.
At showdown, Sfez showed 8-7, while Nitsche had Q-Q for the win.
“That was one of the best calls I’ve ever seen,” quipped one of the players at the table as Nitsche raked in the massive pot.
It looks like Nitsche will finish the day with more than 500,000 in chips.

Table 15 was cheery during the last seven hands of play.
Ludovic Lacay, Fabrice Soulier and Ariel Celestino all had large stacks and were getting involved in several hands. There were plenty of laughs and dramatic face-up folds.
In one hand, Celestino showed ace-queen after Lacay folded to his bet and Celestino said, “See, sometimes I have it.”
“You mean ‘first time you had it,’” Soulier replied.
The table laughed and Celestino also won the last hand of the day. In a raised pot, Celestino bet on an board and Lacay folded.
“You have to show,” Lacay said.
Soulier agreed and the table insisted that Celestino show his hand.
“Last hand,” Soulier said. “In France you have to show the last hand.”
The table laughed and Celestino finally agreed, turning over With that the table bagged for the night with three large stacks. Lacay finished with 406,200 while Soulier finished with 319,000 and Celestino bagged up 325,000.

In one of the last hands of the night, Romain Kazarian moved all in for 36,400 preflop from early position and Marcin Wydrowski reraised all in for around 70,000 from the small blind.
“Oh I have a decision,” said Daniel Negreanu looking at his 120,000 stack, playing to the crowd who were all here to see 'Kidpoker'.
Finally he folded face up.
The crowd looked shocked but Negreanu comforted them saying it was “the right play.”

The board came and Kazarian doubled up while a groan came from those watching when the ace hit the turn.
“I'm ok,” said Negreanu, assuring his fans, "it was the right thing to do," before agreeing to take several photos with some of the public.

The board read when Ludovic Lacay checked to Ariel Celestino who bet 42,400 from the button. Lacay tanked for quite a while but eventually he made the call. Celestino showed and that was enough to take this big pot down.
Lacay dropped to 400,000 while Celestino now sits on around 300,000 chips.

Mark Newhouse was down to just over ten big blinds during the last five hands of the night, but has found a late double up that will surely make him sleep a little better tonight.
Newhouse was in early position when he shoved for 22,600 holding Faraz Jaka woke up with in the big blind and made the call.
Newhouse was looking like he might be going home, but the board meant that he scooped up the double.

On the turn of a board, Alain Bauer checked, Bryn Kenney bet 9,500 and Daniel Steinberg folded.
Bauer then check-raised to 22,000 and Kenney made the call.
The river was the and Bauer tanked for several minutes, gesticulating with chips in an apparent show of confusion as to what to do.
Finally he moved all in.
The trap was set.
Kenney instantly folded.

Ludovic Lacay keeps on rising.
As we enter the final leg of the day, the French pro has increased his lead to about 430,000.
Lacay got another chunk of chips after Ariel Silveira Celestino raised to 4,500 from under-the-gun. Fabrice Soulier called from middle position and Lacay did the same from the big blind.
All three players checked the flop and a came on the turn.
Lacay bet 7,000, Celestino called and a came on the river. Lacay bt 13,000 and Celestino called.
“Three pair,” Lacay said as he flipped over
Lacay took the pot and increased his lead to about 430,000.

Igor Kurganov's WSOPE dream is over.
The German had been the chip leader earlier today but we arrived at his table just in time to see his exit.
He was all in with against Ariel Celestino's and the board didn't prove kind coming Celestino picked up a pot worth 130,000 and now has over 260,000 as a result.

Yann Dion just raised from the button and Martin Finger shoved all in for 43,000 chips from the button.
Dion called with ace-king and Finger showed ace-queen.
The board brought mere blanks and Dion, who’s up to 315,000 chips, knocked out Finger.

Loni Harwood has had a massive year at the WSOP. So much so that she is currently 3rd on the WSOP Player of the Year leader board. If she managed to finish in the Top 2 of this event, she would have even managed to overtake Matthew Ashton. However, that won’t be happening as Harwood was just eliminated.
Harwood was quite short when she found herself all in preflop holding against the of Flavien Guenan. The board ran out and it was all over late on Day 2 of the World Series of Poker Europe Main Event.
Harwood was also the "last women standing" for those keeping score at home.

Loni Harwood took a hit and is now playing with about half the average stack.
The hand started with a raise to 4,000 from Flavien Guenan on the button. Harwood was on the big blind and thought for a bit before re-raising to 10,500.
Guenan called and the flop came Harwood bet 8,000 and then Guenan re-raised to 18,100.
Harwood looked down at her stack and thought for a bit before moving all-in. Guenan called all-in quickly and turned over while Harwood showed
A came on the turn to give Guenan two pair and an on the river gave him the double up.
Guenan doubled up to about 165,000 while Harwood dipped to about 65,000.

Sorel Mizzi was tanking.
Suat Uyanik had moved all in for what looked to be a big overbet on a flop. Mizzi eventually called off from the button with only to be drawing very slim because Uyanik revealed
The turn meant Mizzi was drawing dead but it was only when the came on the that Uyanik shouted “YES!” and clapped his hands.

It’s not been Bryn Kenney’s day so far and he’s got only 75 minutes left to turn things around. We just saw Kenney raise to 3,300 and Fatih Aydin called from his immediate left. The other players all folded and the flop brought and both players checked.
On the turn the hit and Kenney check-called 4,000. The river brought the and Kenney checked again. Aydin bet 10,800 and Kenney reluctantly called.
Aydin showed and raked in the pot boosting his stack up to 160,000 while Kenney was left with just 52,000.

Yann Dion has spent much of today up the top of the chip counts, but recently took a rare hit to his stack.
We arrived to find Dion battling it out with Marc-Andre Ladouceur on the river of a board. There was already around 25,000 in the pot and Ladouceur led for 14,600. Eventually Dion made the call and then gave a slight smirk as he mucked at the sight of Ladouceur’s
Despite losing this hand, Dion is still one of the chip leaders.
Dion has had much success in both online poker as “yadio” and in live poker where he has made the final table of the PCA Main Event and the Aussie Millions Main Event.

Aku Joentausta was crippled after he played a four-bet pot against Benny Spindler, the latter flopping a flush with on a board.
Joentausta was left with very little and managed to double up once with against but the second time proved too much as he lost with against
Spindler, meanwhile is up to 325,000 which makes him one of the chip leaders.
