Hands #22-25: Deeb Regaining Ground

Hand #22: Raise and take it for Paul Volpe.

Hand #23: Romain Lewis raised from the small blind to 255,000 and big blind Bin Duan called.

The flop was     and both Lewis and Duan checked to see the   turn. Lewis bet 225,000 and Duan called. The   river completed the board and Lewis bet 1,000,000.

Duan thought about it for a while but he ended up folding his hand, sending the pot to Lewis.

Hand #24: Shaun Deeb raised from the under-the-gun position to 180,000 and Duan and Lewis folded. Paul Volpe called from the big blind.

The flop was     and both players checked. The turn was the   and Volpe took over the betting lead by putting in a bet of 260,000. Deeb called and the size of the pot crossed the one million chip mark in size.

The   completed the board and there was now a straight out there with four clubs. Volpe checked to Deeb this time and Deeb thought about it for a minute before betting 525,000. Volpe checked his cards again before sending them to the muck.

Hand #25: Lewis and Duan folded to Volpe in the small blind. Volpe raised to 215,000 and Deeb three-bet to 680,000 from the big blind. Volpe laid down his hand and Deeb raked in another pot.

Hand #16: Romain Lewis raised to 140,000 from under the gun, Bin Duan called in the next seat, and Shaun Deeb defended his big blind. The flop came down    , Deeb and Lewis checked, and Duan bet 265,000. Deeb folded, and Lewis called.

Heads-up on the   turn both players checked before Duan called a 350,000 bet from Lewis.

Lewis tabled    for a pair of queens and won the pot.

Hands #11-14: Lots of Checking

Hand #11: Scott Margereson moved all in when it folded around to him on the button and he took down the blinds and ante as both Shaun Deeb and Romain Lewis folded their blinds.

Hand #12: Shaun Deeb raised to 140,000 from the button and Romain Lewis called from the small blind. Bin Duan folded his hand so they went heads-up to the flop.

The flop came down     and Lewis checked. Deeb checked behind.

The turn was the   and Lewis and Deeb checked again.

The   river completed the board and both players checked for the last time. Lewis took down the pot showing   .

Hand #13: For the third time it folded to the button and this time Romain Lewis raised to 140,000. Big blind Paul Volpe called and before the flop came down he asked how much Romain started the hand with.

The flop was     and both checked to see the   turn. Both checked again and the   river came down.

Volpe decided to bet on the river as he put in 200,000. Lewis folded his hand and chip leader Volpe added some chips to his stack.

Hand #14: Deeb raised to 140,000 from middle position and everybody folded.

Hands #6-10: All Ins and Folds

Hand #6: Scott Margereson moved all in for 895,000 from the cutoff, Shaun Deeb thought on the button for a minute before he let his hand go, and the rest of the table also folded.

Hand #7: Margereson raised to 120,000 from the hijack and he won the pot.

Hand #8: Shaun Deeb raised to 140,000 from the hijack and Romain Lewis three-bet to 500,000 in the cutoff. The rest of the players folded before Deeb moved all in for 2.9 million and Lewis folded.

Hand #9: The action folded around to John Andress in the small blind and he called. Margereson raised to 1 million, enough to put Andress all in, and the latter folded.

Hand #10: Paul Volpe raised to 135,000 and he took the pot.

Hands #1-5: Volpe Takes Down the First Big Pot

Hand #1: Shaun Deeb raised to 140,000 from the cutoff and Bin Duan called from the small blind. Paul Volpe called as well from the big blind.

The flop came down     and it checked to Deeb. The current number two on the Player of the Year Leaderboard bet 210,000 and Duan folded. Volpe called to see the turn.

The turn was the   and Volpe checked to Deeb again. Deeb checked behind this time.

The river was the   and Volpe led out this time with 460,000 and Deeb took another peek at his cards. Deeb counted out the bet and toyed a bit with the chips in his hand before making the call.

Volpe opened up    for the absolute nuts and he took down the pot after Deeb mucked.

Hand #2: Volpe put John Andress all in from the small blind and Andress folded.

Hand #3: Duan called from the cutoff and big blind Scott Margerson checked.     was the flop and Margerson checked. Duan bet 125,000 and that won him the pot.

Hand #4: Romain Lewis raised to 135,000 from the under the gun position and Shaun Deeb defended his big blind as the rest folded.

The flop was     and Deeb checked to Lewis. Lewis fired a bet of 255,000 and that was enough to make Deeb fold as the Frenchman took down the pot.

Hand #5: It folded to Margerson on the button and he pushed all in. Both blinds folded and Margerson took down the pot.

Martin Zamani moved all in for 600,000 from under the gun and saw Shaun Deeb on the button and Bin Duan in the small blind both call.

The flop came down    , and both Deeb and Duan checked to play for any side pot. When the turn card came the  , Duan bet 290,000 and Deeb called before they checked to a showdown on the river.

Martin Zamani was very short and Shaun Deeb raised from middle position to 140,000. Zamani pushed all in for 220,000 and all the other players folded. Deeb called for an extra 80,000 and they opened up.

The action folded around to Martin Zamani in the small blind, and he called. Paul Volpe in the big blind raised to 210,000 before Zamani raised all in for 2.2 million. Volpe made the call and was ahead.

Bin Duan limped from the under-the-gun position and it folded around to small blind Shaun Deeb. Deeb limped as well and big blind Romain Lewis checked.

The flop came down     and Deeb checked and so did Lewis. Duan bet 130,000 and both Deeb and Lewis called to see a turn.

The turn was the   and all three players decided to check this time.

The   river completed the board and Deeb led out with a bet of 255,000. Lewis folded but Duan ended up calling the bet.

Bin Duan called for 60,000 as did Martin Zamani before John Andress called in the small blind and Scott Margereson checked his big blind option. All four players checked on the     flop before the turn came the  . Andress checked, Margereson bet 180,000, Duan raised to 470,000, and only Margereson called.

Bin Duan had 250,000 in front of him and Todd Ivens moved all in for 960,000. Duan called and had exactly the same stack in the middle so both players were at risk of being eliminated.
