Nguyen is one of four players still alive in the Main Event who is seeking a second bracelet this summer (along with Vanessa Selbst, Greg Merson, and David "ODB" Baker). Nguyen won his bracelet in Event 38: $1,500 No-Limit Hold'em.

Australian David Balkin opened for 85,000 from the cutoff and was met with a three-bet to 205,000 from Vanessa Selbest in the small blind. After the big blind got out of the way, Balkin pushed all in for 940,000 total and Selbst made the call.

It was a classic flip, but not after the flop fell and delivered Balkin a set. Suddenly Selbst's overs were no good and she was left looking for a five to make a wheel. The turn wasn't it, and neither was the river, though it was close.
Balkin, who had been on his feet, sat back down and collected the pot while Selbst, who won Event 52: $2,500 10-Game Mix - Six-Handed earlier this summer, was left with just 380,000.

On the first hand of play, 2012 WSOP bracelet winner Dung Nguyen opened to 80,000 in the cutoff. Jonathan Schoder moved all in for 465,000 on the button, and the action folded back to Nguyen, who tank-called.
The flop didn't directly connect with Schoder, but it gave him a backdoor flush draw and three extra outs to counterfeit Nguyen. The slammed on the turn, giving Schoder a pair of aces, and the bricked on the river.
Schoder doubled to about 1.2 million chips, while Nguyen dipped to 1.415 million.

Schoder shuffled a stack of chips while staring at Juen from across the table.

More than a week ago, the 2012 World Series of Poker kicked off the 43rd Annual $10,000 Main Event, which attracted 6,598 players and created a prize pool of $62,021,200. Now, as Day 6 begins, only 97 runners remain, each with their eyes firmly fixed on making the "Octo-Nine" and capturing the $8,527,982 first-place prize.
The man best position to make a deep run is Kyle Keranen, who is sitting on the biggest stack in the room with 6,935,000. Not far behind are Robert Salaburu who finished Day 5 with a stack of 6,195,000, and Taylor Paur, who bagged up 5,820,000.
Joining these men are an eclectic mix of amateurs and pros. David "ODB" Baker (1,360,000) has had a tremendous summer, winning his first gold bracelet and making three other final tables, and now he finds himself in contention for the Main Event title and 2012 Player of the Year honors (he'll need to finish eighth or better. Another man looking to accomplish an impressive feat is Sam Holden, who is looking to make back-to-back final tables after finishing ninth last year.
